I drove to the track yesterday...GREAT day and better drive up! I took the route over the covered bridge, then a quick left up the hill to take the back roads in. That road is very Ferrari-friendly now, they must have repaved it. Not perfect, but nothing like I remember from last year. I vote we take that route in... I'll meet up with you guys at the Burlington Dunkin Donuts, that's a good pit stop location for the drive up. And I think last year we got caught by the parade in Torrington, we may be taking a detour when we get to that area. I'll be at DD by 9...the earlier we can leave the better. 3 brave little Ferrari's weathered the rain this morning and headed out to the Rock for a day at the races. Joe's TR, Jays 355, and my 348 were featured on the Midway again. They love to make us feel speciale. Funny some of the things you hear from passerbys. Apparent Joe's TR was an 80's model year Testarossa and my 348 was a 90's testarossa. Mine is apparently worth over a million. Another passerby informed his partners that Joe's was a brand new Ferrari of the latest design. Angelelli/Taylor put on a clinic for the other Daytona prototypes in his SunTrust Dallara. Twenty minutes in to a 2:45 hour race he was threatening to lap the field. The GT field was dominated by the Camaro GTR's. Those interested in the Ferrari P4/5 missed an opportunity to see it up close as Jim Glickenhaus brought his street version to the track. I understand he is still trying the get the race version entered for later this year. A great day with great company thanks to Mike and Erin with their Toyota FJ which they use to Ferry Junk. ( I wonder if thats what FJ stands for). They brought along the stuff that simply does fit in a Ferrari but is MANDATORY for a full day in the elements. (the Canopies). They have taken my canopy hostage but plan on returning it right after the ALMS races are completed. Thanks Guys...Your the best.
What a day indeed! After seeing the P4/5 driven there in the rain, there's no excuses for our modest prancing horses to be afraid of some local downpours Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A great day indeed. A filthy Ferrari now sits in my garage but it was so worth it. Thanks to Lane for the pass, to Jay for the photo's, and most of all to Erin & Mike for hauling the canopy... a must for any future outing at the Rock (in fact I was so impressed it is on my list of "to do's" to go buy one this weekend).

Yup...Like the Lottery, you can't win if you don't play. (LOL) I missed it also. I departed earlier than normal for family plans.
Thanks guys. We had soooooo much fun!!! We of course don't mind bringing stuff up for anyone, and with that said.... if anyone needs anything for ALMS, drop us a line. Although, I'm still wondering where Dempsey was going in that police escort... *head scratch* Thanks for the pics too Jay! They came out really nice. Good to see you Joe & Dino! We'll see you all soon @ one of the meets for sure. One last thing - Lane, if you're getting quotes like that for your baby, you better start taking some offers! lol

Great shots of the GTO! Never seen one in person...those brakes just look insane. Forget old school 'carbon'...these look to be slotted carbon! sheesh! I'd guess that 4 new rotors and pads may cost as much as my 355....
Hey, I had an itch And to my post above, now I see the slotted pieces are rotor covers...wonder how those work? Extra air flow for cooling somehow?
You guys should all meet there early and then caravan down to Greenwich! Should be a "grrrrrrrreat day for motoring"!
I was thinking of going to Greenwich but I got a pregnant wife at home who can pop any day so that's a little bit of a long drive to take a chance for me. Gbury is a safe distance given the circumstances.
