    Hello guys!
    Here is a question for the pros and those who knows racing engines.
    What is the difference between a regular 360 engine and a 360 Challenge engine?
    What does it means that the engine is sized?

    You forgot to post this query for the fourth time in the 360 section !

    Where did you read about the engine being sized : sounds like a bad translation

    The engine may be blueprinted but otherwise standard I beleive

    Not officially ;)

    Its *is* diffferent though, its basically blue printed with more care. Particularly the fine machining and tolerances, the weight of the pistons, the crank balancing. The result of all this effort is a difference in power output of + or - 0.5% power output between different engines. Thats a mere 2hp difference.

    The intake breathing is improved and there is an oil cooler too along with a race exhaust which has lower back pressure. I listed all the challenge differences I know of here;

    On the standard Modena engine, its very well balanced too but for 2% tolerances, so power can vary by +/- 8hp within the same region. Also there are huge variations between different cars destined for different world regions in both weight and power output (due to emissions kit like extra cats, etc.).

    The CS also got the engine with the finer balancing/selection of components.
