Austin is not be the only track to reach 100+ and F1 drivers are supposed to be the elite of the elite right?

True, but the fans don't want to be out there! I certainly don't. It isn't that lovely dry heat that people in New Mexico and Arizona talk about. It isn't Houston either, but close.

City of Austin tries to prevent direct links to files on its site. Guess the cache file got deleted. Uploaded it to my site:

What happened to it not breaking 100 before july :(

From COTA's facebook page, two separate postings as follows:

This is call to all local F1 fans! We need to flood the City Council chambers at 10:00am Thursday (tomorrow) showing our support for the COTA project. I will make time to be there, who is with me?

Fellow Friends of Formula 1. I encourage all of you, no matter where you live to send an email to the Austin City Council proclaiming your support for Austin to Host the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

I found this info listing e-mails using google:

Has anyone thought about a plant for the other side? If they open it up for public comment having someone there dressed and acting like a crazy person against the F1 track could be hilarious and help the pro F1 side look far more professional and reasonable. I doubt it matters though, with all the political pressure no one's going to vote against it.

I don't think you'd need a plant to do that; one or two will probably show up on their own accord. For a few months there was a guy that dressed up in a pig suit, and held out a sign that said 'all lawyer's are pigs'....

Yes it will pass. At least the endorsing municipality part will. Whether or not they set up a special tax thing to have the public pay the $4MM part, or if Tavo & Co. are going to have to pay the $4MM for the local portion, like they'd already offered is debatable.

where did I say it wouldn't pass?

I questioned that "no one would vote against it"

IMHO multiple reasons someone may vote against it... not the least of which may be show me this is a viable project... in 13 months you have plowed some land... you have 9 months left! "have you ever built anything????"

Plenty of greenie's against motor racing regardless...

I'd be surprised if it didn't pass. I'd also be surprised if it was unanimous...

My bad; i mis-took your post.

Rick Perry (governor) and Susan Combs (comptroller) apparently first got in contact with Bernie back in 2008. I don't think they're going to get involved with this if they aren't convinced of the project getting completed.

Susan is in a bit of trouble after the latest security breach a few months ago. Not sure how long she will last or buy her way out of that issue.

The site is currently moving 300 truckloads a day from a local quarry. 1/3 way completed before sinking stabilizers into the ground for stabilizing structures.

I'm surprised her and Rick can agree on anything after Amazon sales tax issue.

So there's not enough rock in the soil out there......should have built it in West Austin ;)

That sounds like a lot of material to be moving :D

No, but I sent e-mails, FWIW. I have a huge project going on and can't break away.

Don't believe this has been posted...

Dated 3/7/2011... but describes SEC filing... Didn't Tavo claim he was fully funded?

They could have left RR2222 pretty much as is, and circled back on 620.
    Would have rivaled Nurburgring.....

It does. Except for the overly optimistic count of believers' votes on the poll...

Amazing isn't it... no different than elections if you think about it. :(
