Those of you that know me are aware that the Ferrari 328 is my one true vice in life. Well, I finally took the ownership plunge again after almost three years absence. I bought a 1988.5 328 GTS in black with cream leather and black carpets from fellow F-Chatter Drew Stoddard. The car is beatiful and he was a pleasure to deal with. I flew down to West Palm Beach, FL yesterday morning and, after a few details, I was on the road back to NJ. Although I do not recommend that trip to anybody for the physical toll it will take on you, I can happily say that the car drove flawlessly for the entire 1,185 mile trip. I arrived home at 6 am this morning and I'm delirious but happy. I took some (substandard) cell phone photos along the way. Enjoy!

The first couple are Drew's garage (and new 430 Spider), my starting point (boats in the background, first fill up in West Palm, and a driving shot on I-95 North somewhere around Jupiter.

Congratulations!!! And indeed, you can't have a nickname that contains 328 and not have a 328...:D

Congrats on another 328! I've lost count of how many you've had ...but welcome back!
I enjoyed seeing the photos of your journey. I'm not sure I could do 1,100 miles in a day or so, but it looks like a great way to get reacquainted with a 328.

    Best regards,
    Dino

epic drive! 1,100 miles in a day is quite a feat (I've done it a few times, I was pretty beat at the end).

congrats on the new car :)

    Nice!
It's a testament to the car and previous owner to make such a journey without issues.

This is what is meant by "grand touring". 1K miles will whip the driver but the car is just awesome!

Thanks guys. It's great to be back! I ran the car almost non-stop for almost 16 hours and it didn't miss a beat! I can't say the same for myself though. It really took a lot out of me. It didn't help that temps outside were almost unbearable during the day and not much better at night. Still, she ran cool the entire time. I'm truly impressed that a 23 year old car could handle it, let alone a Ferrari.

I make the drive from NJ to Florida (and back) a few times per year - I could never do an all nighter, that's nuts. Worse in a Ferrari - my behind would be killing me.

God bless you, you're a better man than me. Nice pics too!

Welcome back! Did you take 95 all the way, or did you cut through DE?

Congrats on the new 328!!!! Best Italian tune-up you could have given her -- driving her like you stole her! Hopefully, we will see you and the new ride at some of the Cars and Croissants events over in Chatham in the next few weeks.

Enjoy the car in good health, as my grandmother used to say!!

Huh? 95 goes through DE. He posted a pic on the Memorial Bridge and in NJ just after crossing.
