Bumper car boy uses his twit account to apologize to Massa and Alguarsuary for bashing into them Sunday in Monaco. He sounds like a politician, "2 Massa & Maldonado, with the greatest respect I apologise if I offended u". If you offended them ? What a twit indeed ! Saying things like "These drivers are ridiculous. It's stupid." Why don't you just stand up like a man and say what you said was out of line ? I don't think he can, he has to add the "if I offended you" It seems the Hamboi refuses to grow up, he'll likely be out of F1 before he matures into a responsible adult. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/31052011/58/hamilton-apologises-rivals.html
Go ahead and quit man, F1 will be fine without you. Lew seems to be upset that another year will go by without a WDC for him. Don't worry Lew, others have gotten lucky and won a WDC (Jacques Villeneuve, Damon Hill) your name will fit right in with those two... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12479_6960268,00.html
I wish Massa and Hamilton NEVER quit F1. If they do, then there is going to be nothing to talk about in the F1 section on Ferrarichat. Quite sad, actually...that thought.
Two points: 1. Criticism of Ferrari drivers is mostly due to disappointment with said driver's ability to represent the Scuderia properly. It's not simply a case of "bashing" a Ferrari driver because you don't like him, so I think the dynamics are completely different. 2. Regarding the "I hate Lewis" Crew; People hated Alonso (i.e. "Alonshole" before he came to Ferrari...although many still don't like him), people hated Schumacher, people hated Senna, some people even hated Mika Hakkinen, Jacques Villenueve, Damon Hill, etc. What do all of these people have in common? I think the hatred for Alonso, Hamilton, Schumacher and Senna all comes from the same place; they won the WDC, beat Ferrari and are very shrewd, in-your-face drivers. The hatred for the other guys is just because they won a title and beat Ferrari. I'm not certain why people love a dominant Vettel in a dominant RBR but didn't like a dominant Mika in a dominant Macca. Probably because there is extra hatred reserved for McLaren. Conclusion: it is what it is. I really don't care about a person's need to hate. I enjoy the series, root for the Scuderia but respect/admire the gifted drivers.
Schumacher bashing on here reaches the upper level of any dynamic, most people hate him going back BEFORE Ferrari. I have a great respect for Mika, as well as Alonso from his Renault days, both of them were clean and fair in their battles for world championships. Senna and Hambone not so, period. Both men are dirty drivers, pretty hard to see it any other way. I respect people who fight fair on the track, Vettle falls in that catagory, of course lately he doesn't really have to pass very many cars to win.
Schumacher lost a lot of fans when he deliberately drove into Hill in 1994 while with Benneton. He lost even more when he did the same thing to Villeneuve in 1997, and just driving a red car didn't absolve him of that extremely unsportsmanlike behavior. He lost his last group of fans when he parked his car during qualifying in Monaco 2006 to deliberately block the track. Re Alonso from his Renault days - before, or after he was part of the team of cheaters at McLaren? From his 2009 Renault days, when he was complicit in the fraudulent race win with Piquet Jr? Sure, like Lance Armstrong, he's never admitted it, but it's generally felt by everyone around the paddock that there is no way Alonso would accept a planned pit stop on lap 11 without knowing why.
The Hill incident is a matter of opinion in regards to it being deliberate, his 1994 season is surely a can of worms for another thread. The 6 straight Championships Ferrari collected with him as lead driver were all well earned IMO. Alonso beat Schumacher, even if 2005 wasn't a fair fight, 2006 was, for that he get's my respect.
Is that what Schumacher told you? I've seen the replays from every angle. Unless he tells me that, I'm not convinced. Hill was nuts to do what he did.
+1 I mean, Hill clearly saw Schumi went off track and hit the wall. The car was damaged, Williams would have informed him. All he needed was MS to head down to the pits and retire. Looks to me like Hill crashed into him. All he needed was to brake, MS was clearly ahead of him. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5H0w-pEe90&feature=related[/ame]
exactly right. If lewis did the wrong thing running into Massa at Monaco, and everyone who counts thinks he did, then Hill did the wrong thing running into MS....PLUS...he just had to wait a few seconds!
You guys are forgetting that Hill was not that far behind and Adelaide has lots of blind corners, and this occurred on one of them. Sorry I remember that race well and MS crashed and then desperately tried to get his car going again. When Hill came around he moved his car even further into the way. I don't blame Hill. Pete
You're right. We shouldn't blame either of them. They were both just aiming for the same bit of road. Were there any penalties? I don't recall now.
There were no MS haters back then. But this probably started a few in that direction. Myself at the time gave him the benefit of the doubt, but did feel sorry for DH ... but I was a MS fan then. It takes time to get hated as much as MS is, and he's worked dillegently on creating this image of himself. Trying to kill Frentzen at Montreal, trying to take out JV, spinning on purpose during qualifying and then finally parking the car at Monaco finished the job. A great flawed talent. Now he is but half the driver he was pre-2000. Sad to watch ... Pete
Takes time to get loved as much as he is too. He worked diligently bagging 7 titles In a career that long, spending that much time at the top, I trust that you could look at any driver's resume and find "questionable" incidents.
This sport is for the young men, like Lew-Ham ! Unfortunately, for Lew, there's another young German who's stealing his thunder (as well as Championships) Lew has now gone from 5/2 odds to a whopping 10 to 1 for this years Championship ! Interesting to note that the 3rd favorite is Alonso and not Webber or Button. http://www.skybet.com/betting/formula-1/c46.html
+1...I like Schumi but to me he was clearly trying to block Hill while he got himself situated. He was determined not to let Hill pass him. That's even obvious in looking at the video.
