I'm somewhat surprised at the low count of reply posts on this one. Is everybody waiting until PlanetF1 has the story and then somebody starts a new thread and speculation runs rampant? Oh well. At any rate I'd be thrilled to see MS do two additional years.
Would that extend the time-frame for our bet or are we keeping it at 3 seasons? All the best, Andrew.
If the Mercedes Team will stay on as a constructor, it benefits F1, & I would be thrilled if Michael drives for them. Seeing a 42 year old on the grid is inspiring for me personally and I cannot wait until he gets on the podium. Remember Rubens with Brawn and how cool that was? If he doesn't win, place or show, I admire that he is getting paid and enjoying himself. Whatever happens, Ferrari & I wish he was in Massa's seat. Best, David
If MB quits F1 is there another team that would be willing to hire Michael at anything like his current salary?
I think the same way. Hell there are other racing series where a 50+ yr old has and is still winning.
Quite the opposite: MS till 2014 means two more years of fun. MS in F1 now is like Palin running for President to the late night comedians.
You need to pay up after 3 years my friend. But I'm willing to have another bet for the additional 2 years. Or we can make it now for the 5 years but double the price. Assuming he actually stays till 2014
I remember someone saying that there was a possibility that off-season testing was going to be brought back after Schumacher was due to retire from Mercedes. The thing is, I think testing and developing a car is what Schumacher is really good at. That's one of the reasons he contested so many titles in his prime and one of the reasons I think he has really struggled in the current F1 setup. If testing is brought back, then I'll bet he definitely wants to put those skills to good use. If this is a rumour, then perhaps that's where it has come from. If he really is going to be with us in F1 until 2014, then perhaps this is what his thinking is. It'd be interesting. I'd love to see him stick around. All the best, Andrew.
The guy comes back and is urged by many to give up, but keeps on fighting. He is the embodiment of perseverance. Why hate that?
