bro, she's a beauty. Enjoy it. Let's go on a drive when you have taken it. Being such rare a car, you should try to keep it as 'factory' as possible unless what's gonna change is broken. Wrapping is ok, i guess. My 0.002 cents.
I would agree with that, alcantara would not look quite right on a car of that period. As for the old leather, re-condition it but try to keep original if possible.
I thought Ferrari fits Momo steering wheels on post 1983 models. And so i got a beautiful suede steering wheel off ebay but when i tried to install it we found it doesn't fit onto my 355. Mikimarketing doesn't have the adapter. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get one? Ian.
great find jon ... drive in good health ... & as others have said, keep her original ... looks gorgeous as she is ... when do get a chance to see her?
Thanks mate. Yes, it is one of those thing like a woman u know haha. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town for several weeks so I'm choosing a special date to register it. Problem is I don't know where to hide/park it! Talking to the "hotel" to see if valet is possible there. Thanks mate. I've given up! all my cars are black now including my scooter. durghhh.... But I figured the diablo looks evil in black so I'd add discreet matt black SV stickers or lava orange! haha Well, they actually have alcantara for Diablo in those years. The leather are a little wrinkled now as you can see & l like them fresh + tight Was thinking of painting it to my fav metallic grey, lime green or even that taxi blue but nah. Better don't bastardise this car
That's strange. Oh but I think 355 has air-bag! You'll need a boss-kit, probably discont by now but u can check on ebay. Or custom it
Congrats Jon, the perfect Lambo for you. You should find out the name of the owner and in 8 years time, pick up the LP 670 SV from him
Yes this is it. Where can i order it from please? to SFchallenge : Mine is a non-airbag steering wheel which is why I'm also quite perplexed about my predicament. I did quite a lot of trolling and research and nobody ever mentioned needing an adapter.
try checking with ben or maybe chow on how to get the boss kits for the wheel. i think ben is outstation tho. alternatively f50 wheel goes well with the car (audi is yours still availab), had 1 on my 355
Would anyone consider operating on the stock exhaust. Maybe this is the wrong crowd to ask about such things and i'm not sure how it'd sound but there are brownie points for being stealthy.
congrats congrats, still love that diablo shape, somehow more organic and lambo -like than the murcie range. let me know how the clutch/gearshift feel- mine was really quite heavy
Congrats Jon, I set my eyes on this beauty too and before i knew it the price up up by another $100k. She is really a beauty. Enjoy in good health.
Ian's original wheel is the non-airbag version. Unfortunately I don't know much about the adaptors but mine took a F-50 wheel with no issues. Now that very wheel is residing in the US with a fellow F-Chatter who also had an airbagged car. Maybe post some pics of the new wheel in the 355 section. I am sure some of the US boys would know how to get it done.
Sure, please pay the bills too ^^ I'm only using her on weekends. Thank u sir. Finally the search is over! 670Sv is sexy idea I have an F50 wheel somewhere in the store but it's a bolt on momo wheel as well so yours a little confusing. Shouldn't be tough to mod it. Phil, u wanna get blacklisted by Ital? haha
Thanks Tim. I tried the clutch & it is unbelievably light. Lighter than Jap cars. Eric said it's a new clutch job. Owner spent S$20K+ couple of months ago & the clutch gets heavier as it ages. Door is heavy though.... Thanks bro. Someone once said, we are all custodians of collector's cars, merely looking after it for the next owner
Jon the Diablo looks fanstastic! Black suits it very well. And 10k km mileage only is amazing. Are those Hamann rims on it?
stock exhaust sounds a bit too thin imo, but the f1 shriek is more audible with stock i feel, overall i prefer after mkt esp on 355, 355 challenge or kreissieg sounds great!
Though stock is stealthy, it has long term issues esp with the manifolds. Hence many 355s world wide use aftermarket, sound effects and weight being the other reasons.
