4892 means that is the chassis number designated to the car when it was manufactured.

There is only one "real" Jota, and it was destroyed in testing. Well-known, even to newbies.

This is one of the SVs taken by the factory and given some Jota features. Some people refer to these cars as "SVJ"s, even though their chassis ID plates all simply indicate that they are SVs modified by the factory. Some people like to suggest that some of these so-called SVJs were purpose-built by Bertone SpA but that is simply incorrect. Each one of them was built as an SV by Bertone SpA and then supplied to Sant Agata where the Jota features were added.

    Hope this helps you.

    It helped a lot !

    I knew 4892 was a serial number
also I was aware of the original JOTA was destroyed

that s/n means this is one of the five so called JOTA ?

    Only 5 SV-J were factory modified ?
    Is that correct ?

While we are at the JOTA

was Wolf involved in the original Jota development ?

which car came first the Jota or the Bianco Countach with the roof wing ?

    1. => incorrect #4892 is not one of the 5.
    2. => correct, 5 SV-J in the Miura period
    3. => NO, Wolf was never involved in Jota. Bob Wallace was with Paolo Stanzani and some guys...
    4. => not a SV-J, but a Jota replica based now in Japan... VIN #3781

Wolf was not involved with any factory-modified SV or the original Jota. He didn't think too much of Miuras in general, even though he owned 3 of them.

Of course the Jota came first, and was destroyed years before the Bianco LP400 with roof wing materialized.

No, its not correct to say there were only 5 SVs that were Jota-modified. Exactly how many, there is some question, but Im aware of at least 7. As I state in my book, http://joesackey.com/the-lamborghini-miura-bible/ on page 146, "Five built with Seven remaining". Speaks for itself. And they are not JOTAs, strictly speaking, they are factory-modified SVs.

Yes 5 are acknowledged within the actual SV production period, but at least 7 before the Countach production period.
