I can't make the Concorso unfortunately. I will be at GBury in the morning for an hour or so for coffee however. --Mike
Come on . I could almost walk to the polo grounds. I will be out for coffee and hope to caravan over. Hey I noticed there is a $10 parking fee. Does that money go towards the charity? Was there a parking fee at the capital? I don't remember one.
Your right there was no parking fee at the capitol. The admission to the show is still free but parking is $10.00. Yes proceedes from parking go to charity along with regalia t shirt sales. There will be over 100 cars there and some amazing rare ones that is worth the $10!
I just went to get the cars out to be ready for tomorrow and the 308 won't start and it is on the bottom bunk. The battery is totally dead. I hope it is just a drain on the battery and not a sign that the alternator is shot from all the oil leaking on it. I have the charger on it and hope to get it started later tonight, but it is out for tomorrow. Looks like only the TR will be rolling tomorow, assuming the 308 will charge and start in time so I can get the TR off the top bunk.
Thanks Brendon. After 3 hours on the trickle charger she reluctantly fired. I got her moved out from under the TR, but I am now nervous about driving her any distance until I am sure the issue is not the alternator. At least the TR is ready to roll. My dad and I will be in G-bury around 9:15AM.
If you are not in the parade they would like the cars to arrive between 10 and 11am. I'm thinking a 10am depart from Gbury would be about right. How does that sound?
see everyone at the show... Joe, and everybody, I'll have a portable battery/booster cable kit for the, just in case. weather seems to have leaned in our favor, but I've packed my superstitious umbrella to keep the odds on our side...plus thats about all I fit anyway, d*mn Lambo trunk.
Quick note***two more things to throw in....suntan lotion and bug spray...5 items, I need a roof rack.lol Dean, last post 5:00am, heck you could have made the 7:30 call no problem. Everyone have a fun trip to the show!!!!!
Lane, thanks for the battery tester tool. I tried it out when I got home. The battery was sitting at 8.42 when I plugged it in (and that is after sitting on the charger for 24 hours) and it jumped to 13.76 when I started the car. I am now pretty certain it is not the alternator, thankfully. I will let the car continue to charge for the next few days. If it does not go up to full charge and hold on the trickle charger, the battery is going back to be exchanged (it is only 1 year old). Thanks again.
Here are a few shots of the entourage leaving Glastonbury for Farmington for the Concorso. I was near the front of the queue, so I didn't get a lot of cars in the photos. The view I saw in my rearview mirror through Hartford was surreal. The music was good too: The 8 and 12 cylinder sections of the orchestra did a splendid job through the tunnel in Hartford, led by a 10 cylinder soloist. I'll put some other shots up for the event under the appropriate thread. - Charles Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My Nephew is getting married and his stag just got scheduled for Saturday July 9th.....Friggen ALMS. I'm trying to get his bride to realize the mistake she's making but very little progress. Looks like I'm out for the best racing of the year. CRAP.
SaintB, Didn't his bride check the racing schedule prior to selecting July 9th for the wedding? Perhaps you can peresuade her to reschedule .... or perhaps not. - Ed -
