Currently, I’m on my forth Ferrari. I have had a 512BBi, two 348’s and now my 360. I must say that thus far the 360 has been my favourite. I still often find myself thinking about the 328. I have never owned one. So, I am looking for some input from other 360 owners who may have owned or still own a 328. Am I going to be disappointed if I get one.

Well, certainly in terms of HP, top speed, acceleration, etc.... the 328 ain't a 360 or 512BBi!!

But as an owner of one myself, it's so visceral, so "raw", so FERRARI... primitive in
a delightful way, and utterly classic in its look and styling. And because I'm secretly
a 17 year-old in a 50 year old body, it has just enough power to make me smile
but not really enough to end my existence.

Just buy one, play with it, and sell it if you don't like it...

    :):)

Honestly... your next move should be F430. It's a remarkable step up from the 360. If you like the 360 as your favorite car, the 430 has to be even better.

No knock against the 328 but you already have enough classic feel in your garage. I doubt the 328 would add much.

Go for it, 328 is such a classic, keep the 360 though.

Currently own a 355, 360, CS and a 328 .... if I had to keep only one, it would be the 328.

Recognizing the attributes of your other F cars, you will appreciate the " classic " feel of the 328 !

I love the 328 GTS. If you want to see my extensive well-documented service history with photos, you can visit my website: www.AlfonsoFaustino.com.

My 328 GTS is a visually stunning and fun Ferrari to drive, and you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

One of the areas of concern is the water pump. Usually, it goes out; so, when I do the major service, I replace the water pump. The other area is the alternator bracket -- it can fatigue, so I had a better one fabricated to withstand the pressure of constant vibration and wear.

The windows can get off track, but that is easily fixed through an alignment.

The most unusual repair I had on my 338GTS was the speedometer casing. The screw down parts are plastic -- thin threaded plastic. Through the constant vibration of the car and from the road, this plastic can break off -- really cheap stuff.

The pleasures of driving the 328 outweigh the problem areas.

    Good luck.

    Check 6!

Have to disagree on that one. Although the 430 is an improvement on the 360, I can't get past the looks and sound of the 430- Too aggressive for my taste. That's my opinion. I find the 360 to be very sexy. I recently got out of a 2004 360 F1 only to find myself in a 2002 360 six speed and all I can say is WOW!! BTW I have driven both 430 F1 and six speed, but like the feel and sound of the 360 better. To me it's more than enough car for my skill level.
What I would definitely consider next or in addition to my 360 is a 512 TR. Now that is sex on wheels! Again, just my opinion....

Trade one of the 348s for a 328 - why have two of the same model?

Have you considered a 360CS as the next step from the base 360?

Sorry - misread your post and see you "had" as opposed to "have" - Apologies. Still would consider a 360CS though - depends on how you use/enjoy the car. Cheers

If you are thinking of purchasing a 328 in addition to the 360, you won't get the same thrill of driving the 360 with sound, handling, and power. I would move up to a 430 and forget about the 328. I had a 328 and I never think about having another. I have a 360, but my eye is on a 430!

Success. Couldn't hold out any longer. 430 + 328 is fantastic. Just got the car last week (the 328).

I own a manual 360 Spider and I sold my 328 GTS last year which I owned for 14 years.
Some thoughts: The 360 looks too fat and bloated next to the 328, the 328 [and the 355] are two of the prettiest Ferraris and their styling is timeless. In a similar comparison I find the current Jag. XK way too oversized next to the sublime E Type.
If we talk about performance, 360 Vs 328, obviously there is no comparison and the 328 gets front end lift over 135mph. Surprisingly, I preferred detailing the 328 and everything about it is so much simpler then the 360, much more hands on. For instance I detest the whole miserable alarm/start up procedure on the 360.
What do I not miss on the 328? The tilted angle of the steering wheel, not being able to see half of the dials [hidden by the st. wheel rim]. No power steering, "balkier" gear shift and, always. those so slow window motors. No matter what compressor you manage to fit , the A/C is always poor. And finally, the fact that many current econo boxes are faster is the final straw.
In summary the 328 no longer cuts it as ones only Ferrari but is perfect as one of ones other Ferraris.
