Love this thread! What a awesome car you will have!
Looking awesome, Enrique! Can't wait to see the dream completed... Let me know if I can give you any support, supply beer, whatever.
Enrique, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there seems to be a "Stradale Spider" already in existence. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
..... scrap the project, there is only room in this state for one " Stradale Spider " , unless ...... it is " detailed " out of existence ??? Had a good laugh !
DISCLAIMER .... the " model " was released into a nice open field after cooperating with the photo shoot, it did not like the idea of a stradale stripe tatoo. Maybe Rick @ urgetodrive.com can use her in the future.... good rates ! I will be installing the full interior and top mechanism this weekend, as I have been extremely busy with work ( and the spider ). Enjoy the preview of the future Stradale Spider ! For the photography crowd ( Canon EOS 10D / 50mm 1:25 Macro Lens ) diffused flash . Awesome 'Spider' badge in the Stradale font!!! How did you do that???? I'd absolutely love to get a '360trev' badge done.. How, from where and how much. I so want one!!!!!
I vectorized the " Spider " script from my 355 , PM me where you want me to send a vectorized Illustrator or EPS - DXF file.
Prior to installing the top back on the " black Widow ", I took it for a small test drive in order to confirm that everything is working order. I would guess that the Spiider without the top mechanism would weigh about the same as a CS. Let's just say that the CS derived engine sound in a Spider is a whole different " sympnony " ! I've refrained so far from changing out the Air Intake Resonator from the Spider to the Cs Style....not sure if the resonance will be a bit much for a convertible. I will finish intalling speakers this week and the repositioning of a few switches so I can post completed interior pictures, in the interim I've attached a few pictures of a Spider Stradale a la Barchetta " ! Stay tuned ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
NICELY DONE!!!!! Truly amazing. What was the biggest obstacle to overcome? Are you going to modify the engine bonnet to have the CS style "spoiler"/lip (extra metal above the brake light) look? Can it be done?
It's almost humorous, but the item that gave me the most trouble was the ABS Brake Pump. The brake lines just did not want to cooperate .... so , it took a better part of a full day to switch over and bleed the brakes. As far as the lip goes, the spoiler on the Spider is 7 inches wider than the CS. I rather not change the aerodynamic characteristics of the rear lid, as I am quite positive there is much more involved than just the lip size. I will also look further into the engine vents. Due to the reduced space in a Spider Vs a Coupe, I would venture to guess that there is quite a bit of air flow work done by Ferrari to extract the engine heat. Modifying the rear lip may cause a disruption in air flow needed to cool the engine compartment properly.
Its really starting to look great now! Love those latest/recent pics... Are you going to go 16m style and fit Alcantara sills too? I'm very happy with the prototypes I've had made so far (for fitment testing) and they weight only a couple of hundred grammes so nothing to worry. PS. keep us informed about how those tire stickers turn out too
Ok ... attached are the pictures of my console prototype, including the switches I need for a 6 Speed Manual. After numerous lay-outs, the final switch placement seems to be the most functional... at least for me. I fabricated a bracket that allows me to use stock 360 / 355 switches and the CS " START " button . I've read that the CS Start button is $550.00 " ouch " .... there is an ample choice of " Start " type buttons available which would work with this console. The console is a one piece Fiberglass variation including the added spacer in the mold. Stay tuned for more ! Finishing " little " detail items ! Decided to go with " Stradale Spider " as it translates directly to " Street Spider " .... , ironically the space between the diffusers creates a perfect hour glass, black widow style ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone have the part number for the RACE button from a CS please or easier - where I can get one. Cheers
as was once quoted.... "Ask and ye shall get" Now why'll we're on the subject of asking, Enrique do you have the size to hand of the hole needed to be drilled to fit the RACE button ? Thanks
