Depends on how far north of mercury it was ;)
Some sketchy neighborhoods along Jefferson for sure.

I saw a Nissan GT-R in silver on the way to the movies on 202 on the Delaware side of the border. Looked custom, but might of been stock.

Guys from Utah and Ohio commenting on Newport Blues? jeez, and they say the world is shrinking, I guess so. How the hell you guys even know Mercury Blvd.? And since when is an Exige an exotic? Oh, I know, when you are in Newport News. :) When I take the 575 down there it is an Area 51 event that brings out the airforce. ;) In all fairness, I was born there, but certainly not a hotbed for cultural finesse or car spotting. You are more likely to lose the jump off the line to a ratted out mid 80's Camaro because you were trying to read the tattoo on the driver's girlfriend arm dangling out the window because their AC has not worked since the early 90s.

I used to live by oyster point and also down between Todds lane and Mercury.
In some parts of Newport News, a car with four wheels is an exotic. :D

Yea, I went to HRA back in the 70's. I am all to familiar with Newport News. I was there today dropping off some stuff to a friend. Best place in Virginia to get a tattoo or sell some stolen jewelry. Even seeing the welcome to the city sign gives me the creeps. I lived over by the Mariner's Museum growing up. I used to tear up that place in my '72 Fiat 124 spider in high school and THAT was an exotic back then. Me and my best bud had matching '72s. 0-60 in about 18 seconds, but fun as hell with the top down. I used to have a turkey baster in the boot to syphon the oil out of the top the manifold covers.

Sorry, not up on my Lotus history, I was making more of a crack at my old town than the car. I love little go cart cars as well. ;)

And I used to recycle the oil back into the engine because I was a poor high school kid. Who dares say Ferrari drivers are not "green"? ;)

I go to school there and it never ceases to amaze me the money that is there, regardless of what the place looks like. I've seen multiple Bentleys, Astons, R8s, Nissan GTRs.

Murrysville PA (outside of Pittsburgh) Route 22, Bianco 612 Scaglietti driven by what appeared to be a very attractive young lady. No pictures this time, but I am sure to see it again.

I lived there too, there are some really nice houses in the Bennetts Creek area. IIRC, Michael Vick's mom lived around there in a sweet house.

I'm actually from the area and my parents still live in Williamsburg so that's why I was hijacking the thread. I will be honest though and say the Lotus was on Jefferson up near Patrick Henry Mall so it wasn't quite as exciting as if it was farther down. As far as the Exige goes, I consider them exotics, especially since they are much rarer than many V8 Ferraris.

Yep! Rumor has it there is someone in that area with an S7 and a new 458. When I spot it I'll report so as to justify all my thread hijacking!

I grew up on James River Drive right where that road twist beside the lake called Snake Hollow about 1 mile upriver from Hilton.
