    Fantastisch!!!

How did you end up 2nd in class? Last time I checked (yesterday at the end of the race) I thought you guys were 3rd? Did I miss something or did somebody get bumped? Just curious.

Here's hoping the ACO has been paying close attention. ;)

Congrats to the team for fighting through troubles and taking the checkered flag!

How about a picture of a smiling Jim G. after the race finished? :)

just minutes before the race was over I saw the BMW #7 beeing driven to the paddock on a towing car. But I don't know when and why the car broke down - somehow we were not so well informed about the race but got to speak to a lot of team members and drivers :D

those of you who were on site know this, but i thought it would be worth mentioning that this whole adventure was an incredibly heroic effort on behalf of jim, the team, and the drivers.

i was there with them from friday till the end of the race (in the pits and on the perch multiple times - thanks again jim !), and i saw the porsche, mercedes, audi, bmw, aston, lexus teams with massive factory support, and lots of rule breaking; those r8's were so far from road spec as to be ridiculous and should not have been allowed to run in that classification, the bmw's in the p4/5 class had the trannies hanging out back - experimental maybe, but you'll never see it in a road car, and many other small things. whereas jim put his own money where his mouth was and fought with 2 hands tied behind his back without any factory backing, and hardly anybody giving him much help, and he kept to the rules given to him which put the car down on power.
then the car got hit from behind early on which obliged it to pit for repairs that cost about 2 hours. but as the race wore on, other issues kept arising stemming from this incident which combined for another additional 1 hour in the pits. so if you just take those 180 min, at 9 min/lap, that would have given them 20 more laps overall , and a position somewhere around 20th. but no excuses and no looking back.

so this one-off prototype, with no factory support, and all costs borne by one man managed to finish, and beat some stiff competition, in one of the toughest automotive competitions on a race track....simply a monumental achievement !

rejoice fchatters because we have an automotive hero in our midst !

Thank you, Jim, for letting us all be part of this great adventure for all these months (years!). You and all of the team really earned this big effort, and that's what it is: a big effort!

I'm sure you all had this totally emotional feelings seeing P4/5 C going over the finish line, after all this hard work – even some of us had these feelings watching it live.

    Congratulations!

Congrats Jim! Thanks for sharing so extensively with all of us.

I know that finishing is such an amazing achievement, but I was also very sorry to hear of each unfortunate incident as they happend... And that is only because we all know that, given a bit more luck, she would have been much higher up the grid... After all, she was turning consistent top ten lap times like clock work.

    But nevertheless.

I am now anxious for just one more thing:

A flying lap of the Ring, unfettered. Her will and ability to compete have been proven; now all that is left is to witness her true speed.

Please keep us updated on the future undertakings of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and P4/5C!!

Wow!! Awesome pictures. Mine aren't 1/10th as good as yours. It was a true joy every time the car passed, although I just had a very limited view from the tribune where I got a seat (got there too late so all the good seats were taken :(). We later found a spot by the long straight and wow wow wow, that 1 second when the P4/5 passed in extreme speed was just breathtakingly fun. I literally jumped for joy every time I saw it fighting with the R8 LMS and SLS'!!!!

I tried to greet Mr. Jim as well, but didn't get access or the traffic was just too thick.
Got the 1/18 scale model though, and I just love it (Thanks Vincent, you were great to meet!) - it is such eye candy that I don't think I will get tired of it for many months now.

I don't Napolis knows what effect this car actually has on its fans. It's like a dream that isn't a dream.

Agreed! When you step back and look at the scope of what they were trying to accomplish it is just staggering. Some would say you got lucky but like Ross said you actually had a little bad luck or you would have won your class handily. Just finishing the race was long odds. Second in class is a colossal achievement. Well done sir!

Many congrats to you and the entire team and support network for your great accomplishment Jim. With all the pictures from the point of inception, throughout the build process and then with the great racing pics I hope you will consider a book? This is in essence the Ferrari/Ford battles from yester year.

    Best,
    Gregg

Overall this has been a fantastic story. Nothing I could say could really add to what has already been said, but please let me add my voice to the mass chorus here - Thank you Mr. Glickenhaus for allowing us to follow along as you put this masterpiece together. It has been an honor for each of us to see the progress from start until this point. I hope that you will allow us to continue to follow the story of both you and P4/5C.

Hey Jim you have been sharing this entire project with us all and we have been getting alot of technical etc etc impressions from you and others whom are involved with the whole P4/5C journey but for me one of the most important aspects has been overlooked.

How did this journey make you feel personaly and what emotions has it given you? You are a true car guy and an unscripted from the heart impression would be great kinda like a poker night with the boys when you can just be yourself, know what I mean?
