ThIs car should never be compared to an Enzo.

The numbers are close and so are the results. I don't know whether a direct comparison has been done, but if you do a little research you can find some interesting facts by inference:

LFA beat a Nissan GTR, a Lambo Superleggera and a Ferrari 599 HGTE in a direct comparison.

Ferrari 458 has a best Nuerburgring laptime of 7:26. Enzo has one of 7:25. According to Toyota (ok, not the best source), they claim they have done the Ring in under 7:20. Even if that is not true, it would be fairly close as a GTR has done the ring in 7:29 and around Goodwood a LFA beat a GTR by 3 seconds. Given that Goodwood is a lot shorter than the Ring one can infer that they'd be beating the GTR by a good deal more around the Ring.

Another measuring stick is Top Gear's track:

    Enzo 1:19
LFA 1:22,8 on a wet track

According to Wiki you have to subtract 4 seconds for the track being wet, which then makes this a 1:18,8.

The LFA looks like a Supra with a tuner body kit. Sorry, the car does not have a jump out at you "Supercar" look. The Japanese do it again. Interesting technical design, boring or bland(we have seen this look a million times before) on the outside. The S2000, NSX ect. all have a generic look just like this car(there is nothing on the S2000 other than the grill to tell what marque it is!!).

To bad Toyota can't win in F1 or at Lemans no matter how much money they spend.

Any idea where it was from?

Something to remember is that the Enzo is 8 years old. On paper, the LFA is the lesser car. The fact that it's even close to the Enzo doesn't say much. Either that means that the LFA isn't as much of a technical marvel as we think, or the Enzo isn't the right car to compare it to.

    Exactly my thoughts.

    Huh?

The LFA has less hp yet can take it up with the Enzo. That already tells me all I need to know: it handles better and thanks to it's electronic wizardry (think EVO or 458 here) is able to put the power down

Of course it is newer and that's part of why it can challenge the Enzo.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is laptime. Nothing else.

Put modern tires on the Enzo and the LFA will not see which way it went.

Doubtful since the Enzo has basically the performance in laptimes of the 458.

So does that make the LFA the official "supercar" of the Pride Parade??

What's with the quotes? The LFA is a Supercar by any definition.

White Skoda Fabia Combi (looked up the model online) southbound on 53 today with Illinois plates. What's the law on things like this? I presume it belongs to someone here temporarily for work.

STRONGLY disagree. Laptimes have very little to do with why 90% of customers drive a Ferrari. Very few of the small percentage of clients who track their cars in the first place will ever come close to the limits of handling.

My comment was not about why Ferrari owners drive Ferraris. My comment was in regards to comparing technical performance data. A 0-60 figure or a topspeed figure is meaningless by itself, the real potential of a car is shown in its lap times.

No time to get a pic but about 12:30 today I was going north on 94 @ Kenosha and saw a white LFA going south, odd as rare as they are for so many being seen in the area :)

I hear ya. Technically, sure, lap times matter. But at the end of the day if it doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy it could do 5 minutes around the Ring and I won't care.

Agreed. Also, let's not forget, a lap time is a snapshot in time. There is a huge variable when comparing lap times, and that is the driver. Different drivers post different times, so unless the same driver is driving each car back to back, I'm not sure how much you can tell from a lap time. It's not a sure measure of the car's capabilities.

One has to hear the LFA take off and realize it's one of the best sounding exotics out there! It's reminds me of the CGT's high pitch F1 sound. It's a front engined GT car that should not be compared to an Enzo, 458 or other mid-engined supercars. Here are the two bad boys unvailed at the last years Pebble Beach events. One white and one yellow. A beautiful and a very special car in every way! Much thought and effort by Lexus on this one.

Webby, great spots! Love seeing what I miss in the Neighborhood. That red 612 is hot. I've caught the brooklands a few times. I really kind of like the Grantourismo, love the white and black...althought it might be a tad overdone - I'd still drive it!

Caught a red r8 v10 in front of Zocalo on Ontario while sitting outside last night. A nice little roar to her.
