Ok, Ill bite. We had a great time at the Atelier in Maranello in June and in the end believe we specced the ultimate car. We saw many different colors on the line and even more in the configurator, but ended up going back to a color we knew and love. Our car will be: Rubino Micalizzato exterior (rosso Maranello is gorgeous, imo, but we couldnt make it work with the other specs we wanted). Dark grey sport wheels with CF center caps, grey brake calipers, black front grill and shields Front and rear cameras and parking sensors, start/stop engine mgmt. system. security tinted rear glass. Passenger display, high end stereo, cruise control, aluminum color tach face Interior leather in charcoal grey, stock seats w/heat and cooling vents, with Bordeaux alcantara cut line inserts, Bordeaux stitching, and Bordeaux red seatbelts. Black carpets Red CF dash, steering wheel, and door sill plates. And oh yeah, glass roof: we had to take a pass on the first order position here as that option isnt yet available. Will be soon I am told by contacts at the factory. We expect (hope) to have our beauty by end of year. Here are a few pics from the configurator of our car. Color rendering is off for the exterior color, but weve owned a Rubino M 612 and are anxious to see the FF in that color. That really looks great, very well chosen as far as colour combination goes, the darker wheels really seem to work well.
Thanks for the info. Your spec looks great. I keep asking this and it's probably been answered for me several times but I've forgotten... Is the glass roof electrochromic? Why did you decide to exclude the rear wiper? Do you forsee any visibility problems if driven in the snow? I know you drove your 612 in the snow. You better keep us a chronicle on your FF adventures
Bryan The roof is described as " Panoramic Roof ". I don't believe it is photochromatic rather like the options on MB E class coupe's etc. Great spec Eric, original and stunning !
Thank you for answering me yet again, I can't promise it will be the last though When is yours supposed to be delivered Cariad? Have you received any more info?
Glass roof is just tinted, not electrochromic. I'm undecided about the rear wiper. For the few times it might be useful it seems a fiddly appendage that might visually clutter the rear end of the car. On the other hand, when we specced the car at the factory the wiper was not available as an option on the configurator. I'll post a few pics when it becomes a real car.
October Production, close to year end delivery. Here are some illustrations of my current spec ( Edition 5 ! )courtesy of fellow F chatter ISUK I will post full spec soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cuoio toscana will be incredible, in both looks and comfort. Does the snow tire option also come with a set of rims?
He persuaded me it was worth the extra cost. Cuoio toscana has full nero leather upper part ,leather headliner and leather rear parcel shelf. About $8K. Pirelli snow tires are listed as a dealer fitted option. No rims mentioned.
If I remember correctly didn't you get your headliner in alcantara because of the leather seam on the roof? I think the quilted leather would look great. A good contrast to the cuoio is sabbia IMO. Does yours also have the leather cabin upholstery (A-pillars and such)?
Thanks, I also added stitched cavallino in Beige Chiaro and privacy glass from the factory. Black colored lower part of external mirrors also. Confirmed US production has powered rear hatch, Sat nav, Sirius, IPOD and Bluetooth. Wheels are RMST.
That was edition 3 ! Leather headliner is nero and "free" with the Cuoio Toscana option. Semi aniline is only available in Rosso, Blu and a dark brown. If you want the extra quality of semi aniline you currently have to go with one of those 4. Leather cabin in nero is standard on the FF but with the semi aniline you get headliner and rear shelf in nero leather for " free " Still not RED, changing my mind daily, sending dealer crazy.
Cariad, Here is John Surtees trying out an FF on a recent visit to Maranello. It has cuoio with the new "tagliatele" piping option (I don't know what the official name is but that's what the factory were referring to it as back in February) finished in beige to match the stitching and stitched cavallinos. The 599 Super Aperta has the same type of inlaid "piping" on it's seats. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Your up late ! Surtees a great hero of mine when I lived in England. I believe he is stil the only man to be World Motorcycle champion and F1 champion. Sadly lost a son in a freak racing accident last year. Vale could have made the move a couple of years ago if his 4 wheel track tests had been any good. Surtees comments on our dear Nando were very perceptive during that visit to Maranello.
Well that has to be the F-chat photo of the month no contest. Brilliant. My son and I attended the Mercedes Benz 125th birthday at Brooklands recently and we were sat in the cafe on the table next to the man himself. I explained to my son (who is 7) who John Surtees was, what he had achieved and said...why don't you go and say hello. Surtees was just fantastic with him. An absolute and utter gent.
