I really didn't believed to see there a red Lamborghini Espada, with automatic transmission! :O
Really don't know details where or when that car was imported, but saw it's engine and it was real thing.
I had time to edit these two for you to look at. Incredbile car, stunning.!

    - This is 1974 S3
    - How many these automatic-versions have been made? Total was 1217, but how many of these ones?
    - What about the color? An orginal scheme?

9574, that makes sense, then it is an original color combination. Prod no 1084, rossa corsa/bianco, eng 41391, produced 9.6.1975, delivered to USA..

Still I have to say; what a stunning looking car. I really couldn't believe when I reliazed what car drove there.

More images coming as soon as I just have time, so be patient. Work doesn't help this project at all. :(

Great to meet both of you guys! But, 3 Espadas owners (4 if Andrew still owns his), no Espada at the show....Hmmm.
Here is my favorite car I saw saturday..

Just getting back from the track portion of the event. Yes Gary, after repeated requests and descriptions they came back with the seat coverings. They didn't seem to know it was for me or my room but I got it!

    Thanks so much.

Good thing I had the event announcer get us together. Missing twice in two years would have been silly. Not that much in the way of vintage Lamborghinis this year. Only a couple of vintage Maseratis too. That display of Alfa tipo 33 race cars was pretty amazing. Even better at the track on Sunday.

Philippe, You should have stayed for the track on Sunday. You would have had a chance to see three of them in action. Plus you could have taken a ton of photos inside the garage with all of the body work off while they were prepping and checking them. What amazing pieces of mechanical artistry they are. Best part of the show for me was seeing them operating on the track.

I'm not so sure they do work all that well. They're higher up than the ones on my car but they still suffer from the same 3 problems.

    1. They're too small once they're that far away from your eyes.
    2. They're too far inboard and make backing up a guessing game.
    3. Your always have to carry a extra passenger to act as an on-board mirror adjuster. Fortunately it's an almost 4 seater of a car. :)

I do like mine better than those football trophy style ones though ...

Doesn't your car have a cut out in that spot for a bigger pulley?

Mine does but I might be starting with a thicker cross member to begin with as well.

Mine is 7996 which is yours?

Looks like you decided to go with the dizzy instead of the digital ignition?

It's 7758, with the cross beam as you see it. They were not anticipating power steering at that point, apparently. I'm just going to fit up my old pulley as soon as I can locate a set of four-slot sockets for the goofy nut they used on the end of the crank.

Yes, I'm taking this engine back in time a bit to the distributor days. Charles had some kind of exotic six-coil electronic system off the Space Shuttle. And he never got it working 100 percent. I don't want to hack into my original wiring harness so I'm going old school.

Those ads are relatively old ( 3 or 4 years), and yes I could have phoned myself, that's not an issue. This car could have been well known to some forum members, hence my post.

On other occasions, I phoned people placing ads in order to inquire about VIN, history of their cars for historical / interest point of view for myself and the Registry, and some of them were pretty relunctant about giving those informations (I did it for a car in a Swiss Museum, the owner wanted to keep it secret, while on the other he lent his car to a museum...).

I'm having trouble fining someone to produce some in the original acrylic lacquer as a single stage paint so if anyone knows where I can get some I'd like to get at least a quart maybe more.

Oh so your's is probably earlier than mine. I don't know that the PS & dual alternators style pulley would fit on mine either. But they did leave some room on mine.

Space Shuttle huh? :) The Space Shuttle isn't getting any respect this week is it. Gee, I thought Chad did that system for him?

There are some source listings for those sockets over on VLG maybe even in the database section. I bought one in the last year from a guy Laust suggested but I think GT Car Parts sells them too for the same price.
