Can you name the track, the car and the year this photo was taken?

It's me in the pic, and the car is a Ferrari... do you know the model# & where was it taken?

    Obviously 89 & 640.

    It's not S/stone.

    I don't think it's M/treal.

    Brazil?.....

    Cheers,

I was there as well, sitting in the rain, with friends, across from the pits on Sunday. You could tell the dislike for Senna in Montreal: his Honda engine blew just as he passed us and as he immediately pulled off the track just out of sight to our right, there was thunderous cheering! Boutsen was definitely a surprise winner.

I was also at the 89 Montreal race. And I remember being able to get to the pits fairly easily as security was not too intense. I sat at the hairpin and the grandstands were WOOD. Mansell was DQ'd in this race as was Nannini. Senna broke down with 2 laps left and Boutsen won in the Williams. It was a great event.[/QUOTE]

That was a crazy race. I remember being on the grid and not seeing Mansell's car... he had gone into the pits to change tires back to slicks... daring move!

by the time we got down to the haripin for the race, I just go up to the guardrail and here comes Mansell followed by Naninni... so I thought WOW what a start to be that far ahead! then a about 20 sec later comes Senna and the rest of the field! then the rain started!

There was a hill side right next to us, with a fence separating the two areas, and it go so wet that people were sliding down the hill side falling down,,, but one guy fell, but saved his beer, the whole place was clapping!

After about 45 min the rain was really bad, and a huge puddle formed by the track barrier, and sure enough Senna went wide, and rejoined but ran right thru the puddle and drenched everyone on the track side where the TV cameras were, I had gone back to a little planter that was there where we stored all the cam equipment to get a new lens and did not get as wet, but it was like a wall of water coming over the side!!!

In those days your FIA credential alowed you to go anywhere on the track, not like now where there are only dedicated photo places per race for photogs... that's why all the pictures look the same ... and there are only half a dozen FIA credentialed photographers any more.

This is Monaco 1990, not a great race for Ferrari. this was taken just before Mansell's car packed up ... while Monaco is a unique race, its not that great to be able to see much of the track. even with an FIA pass, you are so confined, to areas its hard to move around. I was down by Rascasse and was walking back up to the pit area when I took this pic, you had to use a series of bridges, overpasses, thru the stands etc.. Somewhere i have a great pic of Senna down by the Rascasse hairpin, full lock, right in the eyes...

Close .. its schumi at Montreal but right at the chicane before the pit straight.. I was at the fence line on the pit side, but you can see the shadow of the 3 rows of fencing.
