I just got an invite... no ideas yet, as I haven't looked into it yet. Thanks to a fellow fchat member
I'm trying to find people on it -- but obviously it is still pretty early. The integration with my other Google services is very clean, and the idea of circles is quite good (I think)
I'm on it... Got on on saturday. Interesting, but still somewhat undeveloped. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Geez Daniel, for such an old guy you're keeping up with the times pretty well! The Circles interface is awesome. It's hard to add someone to two Circles at once but the interface itself is gooorgeous. EDIT just discovered something fantastic- profile preview. I was wondering if all this configuring I was doing was actually going somewhere for privacy, but I found out in the Google+ settings, go to "Profile and Privacy" and then "See how your profile appears to other users". In the text field you can type in any name you want and see how your profile appears to that person. Great feature!
Thanks..... I think. Did you see where if +1 on a results search, you can see others who "like" the same thing? http://www.google.com/search?q=ricambi+america Click +1 on the Ricambi America result and begin to see other Google+ users in the circle.
I passed on it, biz model is basically to get traffic by advertising it as a social communication 'whatever' but it's really for a mobile commerce platform for advertising and shopping, just wait.
Well what is Facebook if not a platform for advertising and shopping? It seems to me that Facebook is more about traditional social connections- "Hey you wanna go out and do this? Maybe we can go and take pictures while we're there" whereas Google+ is geared more for media and content sharing- "Hey I'm already out doing this, check out this video and these pictures of it!" I think people are so used to Facebook, I'm seeing a lot of behaviour in my stream typical of it. Heck, it was what I did when I first started playing with it because I didn't know what else to do!
Yea, I can tolerate advertising on a big computer screen where my brain is programed to tune it out but for some reason I can't on my mobile phone, it's become a major pain in the ass for me.
It is eerily similar to facebook, probably because of the layout. Haven't really caught on with people I know, I have a feeling it's going to the wayside of buzz, wave, and other google antics.
