changed the rears at 9900km, thought the fronts can be good for another 5K km, but found the inner fronts are down to the steel belts at 1080km!!

never had front tires wear as fast as the rears, its like only 200 kms apart!! I always had the fronts wear twice as much as the rears, maybe im not using enough gas pedal and too excessive cornering!

Also changed the fronts to stones S001 and felt pretty good so far, will report back more on how it matches the pzero rears.

John- I assume you mean 10,800 km for the fronts. If they are wearing out on the inside like that, the suspension is out of alignment. Hard cornering tends to wear the outside of the front tires more than the inside. Lots of experience with that because that is where my fronts always wore out regardless of type of car. You might want to have the alignment checked, even though the shim adjustable suspension on the 612 should hold its settings better than the eccentric adjustment on the preceding 456-Superamerica cars.

Wearing out tires is fun, though, if a bit expensive.

thanks. the outer edges are gone, middle is down pass the indicators and the inners are down to the belts. Im thinking this is pretty normal since inners wear more because of a little negative camber right?
im just too lazy to do an alignment.

John- Front camber is only about -1 deg. I would be as worried about handling as tire wear. If she handles ok, not much of a problem.

With the way we drive... We were lucky to have our tires lasted this long... A-HER (Alex Zhan) with the black 575GTC went over the bump, and killed one front and one rear wheel and tires... Hehehe... he is now shopping for a brand new set of wheel and tires...

Yes he did... He actually find one set of F430 wheels and tires... but the offset is way different which it requires spacers... So, instead he has now the black HRE wheel set on the car...

Here is a photo of our drive that day...

John, you need some serious suspension set like A-HER's 575GTC with some magic touch... IT HANDLES...

The rear tires on my 612 are just about worn out at 8,000 miles. The fronts look to be about halfway down.

Interestingly, my tire guy told me he found some new 2006-manufacture P Zero Rossos in his system, at a significant discount. I had to think about that one, but in the end chickened out and went for 2011 manufacture tires at full price.

If you want the challenge modular 612 wheels, now is a good time; there's a BRAND NEW set on ebay for $2,995. If they'd fit the 456M, I'd have been on them in a flash.

Sometimes the wear rating is different on the front and rear tires and the tires with the lower rating will naturally wear a bit faster. The relatively new Rossos on my car now have front tires with a 220 wear rating and rears with a 160 rating. That, combined with all that torque, means my front tires will likely outlast my rear tires, especially since a full 4 wheel alignment was performed when they were fitted.
