It would be very interesting how many serious F1 model collectors are there worldwide, collecting special hand built F1 models?

That includes all scales, as long the models are hand or factory built, like BBR-Tameo-MakeUp-Bosica-OMF and many others.

    “No die cast models please!”

If you happen to be a serious collector of F1 models please let us know were you from, and what your specialties are!

The majority of this forum know me as the “wolfman”, and I’m specialized mostly in Schumacher versions.

I would say I fit this. Granted I do have about 75 die-cast F1 cars, I also have some 30 hand builts (BBR and Tameo) plus a few Tamiya and Fujumi models I made myself. My collection is all Ferrari, classic and modern. Favorite F1 car at this time, the F1-2000.

    I don't consider myself an F1 collector, I am not a very big F1 fan, but I have several F1 Ferrari's I really like..

The detail and craftmanship to build a nice car is better visible in an F1 car.
My Bosica F1 is one of the best models I have ( I know its rare and expensive, but its mindblowing in detail and buildquality)!

My F1 collection is tiny compared to the museum collection of Gerd!

Sooo, if somebody collects die-casts, he is not a serious collector?
Gee, I think all this handbuilt stuff is getting into your head.
No wonder there are not a lot of responses with an attitude like that.

:))) Resin dust or lead residue from the white metal :) ?
I also have a weakness for Ferrari models, but 'seriously collecting' seems a weird thing for me. What I read on other modelers forums confirms this. Alex (?) - am I right ? You should know this too. But this tiny category on FChat is harmless.

    Best Regards

    Martin

    Hey Martin, what's going on?
Well, no offense was intended by my message, I just think separating collectors into serious, and not so serious seems pretty useless to me... it is "collect what you want", and to me, value of a collection sure is not measured by $$ value of pieces in that collection, and surely not by the material they are made of. But hey, maybe its me who is crazy because of resin dust or lead residue. :)

No doubt, Die-cast collectors are serious collectors two.
But, I was only referring to hand built or factory built F1 model collectors.
If I offended some die-cast collectors, that was not my intension!

    Hans,

I love those big F1 models you have in your collection!
I have four of those 1/12 scale F1 models. Those large models are just marvelous.
Unfortunately they take allot space for displaying.

I figured Gerd had all the F1 models ever built, so nobody else could have been collecting them! :D I don't have the means or space to collect them now, but I would love to have more F1 cars. I currently just have the 1 F2001 that I built. :)

Travis, I only have a small portion of Ferrari F1 models. Still looking for rare models and sets!
But can’t find any rare versions on eBay or otherwise!
Well, at least you have one for starting…….
