Thanks for pointing out what I failed to mention as I tend to leave alot out. Mainly I was eluding too labor cost and forgot that the cost of part's for a Ferrari will eliminated some if not alot of the saving's. I guess I just meant saving cost on labor would be the path I would take.

True. Which is why I think this car may be worth while. It doesn't seem to have any of the expensive items missing. A newish clutch. New Paint. Smells musty? Dry it out. Needs a major. They all are only 60 months away or less. Some people recommended the buyer run but I think this might be an opportunity.

$30K for a high-miles, wrecked and repainted 328 needing a bunch of work seems really expensive. I think the wet interior is the biggest red flag. We all know about the weak electrics on a 328. If is smells bad, a new interior is $5,000-6,000 on top of what he listed. And it's not going to get mildew-wet from a leaky roof unless it was outside in the rain for months.

You can get a really nice, well-kept and sorted 328 for $45,000. And that's one you can drive the same day you buy it.

If they were just another car we wouldn't spend the time and money we do to maintain them!!!! Our Tahoe is "just another car" any Ferrari is special!!!!! Lost

eg. I just spent a half hour taking the driving lights out of the bumper and digging the bugs out. I wash the other cars but not the 308. I hope this helps you understand.

I think (know) you missed my meaning/point as I have spent countless hour's and LOT'S of money maintaining my own car's but it is still just a car. I understand what they are (I'm no dummy) and felt the same about my own so is there any difference because it was an MR2T and not a Ferrari?? Nope there is no difference unless you are assuming that the money and time spent maintaining a Ferrari has more relevance over any other make/model?

Could we once again be dealing with the elitist Ferrari mentality???

You go ahead and carry on the debate and I will leave the sandbox.

Regards Martin, but I am not in Germany.

I have owned 6 911's so far, counting the 87 Slopenose in my profile with my 328. i detest the early 911's ( no offense to you) and would never buy one nor use one as any sort of automotive yardstick. I have had 1xx+ cars so far, so perhaps I am jaded.

I like what i like, and i would really rather buy more guns to be honest. easy to store and you dont have to change timing belts on them every 3-5 years. Oh, they are doing nothing but going up in value.

I do agree, and have said a few times, that a euro QV looks better than a 328, but having just had a euro GTB QV, a 328 drives MUCH BETTER.

Enzo would be cracking up over all this. He had no use for and no interest in Ferrari road cars. He put up with making road cars to help finance the racing. He said that very clearly on many occasions. The quality of the road cars while he was alive makes that pretty obvious. At least the 328 had some minimal quality control from people who understood that non-racers were where the money was...

I agree with you. If you are going to spend $45K you should be able to get a good car ready to go. I think this car can be had in the high twenties and won't take more than $7,500. As for the interior, pour a cup of water on the floor and wait two days. It will smell musty. If the interior is bad you are correct but I'm sure he would have notice that. As for the weak electrics I'm not sure what you are referring to? Maybe you are thinking of the 308 fuse box? Anyways the electrics are going to be pretty much the same on a low mileage car because mileage doesn't wear them out. If anything, lack of use is a bigger enemy. At a certain price point this car makes sense. I think this car might be close.

"DUDE! You can't possibly need more ammo, can you?"

    That's only about 4 seconds worth for a '42... ;)
