Congrats to S Brake on his pano. He's picked "Something that reminds you of your childhood" as the topic this round. Rules: Picture must be taken between July 11th and August 11th and posted to this thread by that time. Please name your submission as your username, 4rephotographer.jpg would be mine, makes for much easier uploading on the voting thread. Instead of doing it the odd way like last time, post any photo you want here, example or submission, but please specify in the post which it is and if there is more than one submission make sure to put "Final" on it. Let's try to get more than 4 entires for this one. Good luck!
My mom brought these up since my son was born last week. Total flashback material. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok. There once was a time in my childhood that I actually took time to look at bugs. So I did that again last week. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is my submission. Very interesting topic; should see a wide variety of subject matter. Here's a shot I took on July 13th, 2011 at Nehalem Bay State Park in Oregon. This reminds me of my childhood because every summer since I was born, my family (Dad, Mom, Brother, and I) would take a two-week camping trip to the Oregon Coast. We still do take that trip and just got back from this year's trip yesterday. For some reason it looks very dark and the color is off when uploaded to F-Chat. Please refer to the High-Res link for accurate representation. I've got a couple that I need to get off the computer from my recent Yellowstone trip. It was the first time I'd been there in dozen years or so. We used to go to Yellowstone a lot growing up when we came over from Hawaii on vacations.
Every Summer of my childhood , the family packed up the pontiac and we headed 100 miles east to Montauk...stayed in a memory motel.. Fast Forward...Now I have my own house out there, and my son sees the same sights I did.. Heres one of them...Taken this past weekend Titled " The End" as this is the last structure on the eastern tip of Long Island 200mm Handheld at about a quarter mile + away Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, I really like it darkened as it appears on FChat... it looks quite moody and dramatic. All the best, Andrew.
Thanks guys. No, I did not use Photomatix and it is not an HDR image. Just a bit of editing using Adobe Lightroom 3. -G.B.
This is something that reminds me of my childhood. Growing up, I started to get into NASCAR, and the one car that stood out to me was Jeff Gordon's Rainbow Warrior paintjob. 1999 was the first year I actually watched some of the races, and the 1999 Daytona 500 was one of them (which Jeff actually won). The die-cast pictured here is the car he used in that race. First photo is my entry. Taken today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, only two days left. I keep forgetting about this. I might have an idea though. We'll see how it comes together if I have time.
This is my entry. I remember when I was young, my dad and I would take the Fairlane out almost every day and we would always take this route home after a nice drive. Now that it's running again, I get to do it again. Image Unavailable, Please Login
These are actually my mask and gloves from when I was a wee lad. We used to play street hockey in the summer and ice hockey in the winter on the frozen pond at the end of the street. Good memories!! I added some 60's touch for a little nostalgic effect too! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I didn't get a chance to take a picture that reminded me of my childhood. Hopefully I'll get in on the next contest. Good luck guys, great shots already.
