A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Harry, what's your problem?" Harry answered, "I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!" Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office. While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed. Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test. Principal: "What is 3 x 3?" Harry: "9." Principal: "What is 6 x 6?" Harry: "36." And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader should know. The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, "I think Harry can go to the 3rd grade" Ms. Brooks says to the principal, "Let me ask him some questions." The principal and Harry both agreed. Ms. Brooks asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?" Harry, after a moment: "Legs." Ms. Brooks: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?" The principal wondered why would she ask such a question! Harry replied: "Pockets." Ms. Brooks: "What does a dog do that a man steps into?" Harry: "Pants." Ms. Brooks: What starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid?" Harry: "Coconut." The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open. Ms. Brooks: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?" The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, Harry replied, "Bubble gum." Ms. Brooks: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?" Harry: "Shake hands." The principal was trembling. Ms. Brooks: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and excitement?" Harry: "Firetruck." The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong.
McLaren has not been getting very good press coverage in UK auto mags. Besides slower times than the 458, all reviews prefer the 458 as they claim the Mac does not have soul(kam tong) In Top Gear, the Mac claim the fastest lap time for a car, almost 3 seconds faster than the 458 and toping over cars like Zonda and Veryon. Both TG and Mac share the track for testing. I am not a track person but i did learn in Pilota to brake hard, downshift and at the apex, accelerate out of the bend. In reviews like 5th Gear, the guy was like drifting out of the bend, obviously great fun but not great for a lap time. So if the Mac is made to ride out bends smoother with it's brake steer system, does that make it lose it's soul. A few of you track on this forum, can you please give your thoughts on this subject?
I don't know man but look @ the way those guys drove like they stole it! The rubbers, I mean tires probably won't last few weeks.... Ring timing is bragging right for carmakers My 2cents worth is, we can only harness 50%+/- of it's power here unless you head north & even that, you'll only find nirvana doing the B roads, hillclimbs & Sepang. My deal is how it's going around in city traffic, torque, handling, damping, clearing ramps & babe magnet
That boy show signs of a gay Ok, I deserve to be in puberty. Oops pre-school what a way to start Thursday. Thanks MP!
Yes, here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=piO0UXVZLAA
Tough call mate. Worst scenario is $100K loss for a quick sale & the car has COE till 04/2020 but I'm keeping this for as long as I can. The body's worth 80-90K pounds now & possibly appreciating while the owner paid $25000 coe last year. He lost $190K worth of parf & spent $30K+ last year on the maintenance Mel took it in for $350K then paid new road tax so I think I got a decent deal. Cheapest entry to Lambo Club! hahaha For me, it's not the price. It's the rarity & the fact that it's the last street legal V12 RWD by Lambo. Was thinking to import a Countach but then it'll be 28days & half a million cash. Yucks....
The MP4 that were tested earlier had some leakage problems with the hydraulic system. Resulted in many journalists stating that there's some form of inertia when the car changes direction. Denis also mentioned that the car they tested was one of the early prototypes and hence not truly reflective of the real car. In fifth gear, they switched off all systems on the track (not sure why Mclaren techs allowed it, heard it's a complex process to switch it off). With the systems switched off, there won't be any brake steer in place. This has serious consequences on the car's performance and hence resulted in slower timings. Like what Denis said, you don't fly a F16 fighter jet with all systems off, the jet will not be able to perform to its true potential. And of course, there's Chris Harris rant earlier on Ferrari rigging their test cars for journalists to test. At the end of the day, it boils down to the individual's preferences.
now, that's really cool. Over the last TD for lambo few weeks ago. A Malaysian buyer bought the new Superleggera after 15mins of drive as he found it more involving than his 458. Hmmm
Unless they remove some of the taxes related to classic car scheme, it doesn't make economical sense!
Just doing my part on being Green by keeping old cars That's why our bro kept the Countach in KL! Our govt is probably like Mclaren, run like a lab=No soul! ok, better keep quiet in case I get hauled up!
Hahaha! Btw, does your Diablo need special pass to go thru customs via truck lane? Or it's just wide enough to go thru passenger car lanes? Timeless...
nah, risk kerbing it that's all. It should be narrower than the Murcie which is fine for the lanes I could look @ the countach whole day lone ^^
as a track car, i think the mac is technically clinical in its attack and very difficult to beat on a track, even when driven a bit "loose" ... as far as the "soul" is concerned ... it's what the car does to YOU when u look at it ... does it make your heart beat faster ?
