1st and 2nd sometimes but 3rd and up and you're moving pretty damn fast. I try to get the revs up to 7000 at least once during every "outing" to clear out the cobwebs. Be sure all fluids are well up to operating temp or you can cause problems. Rob
Roger that. And do you find power throughout the rev band, even beyond 7000 revs? I pushed it today to about that in 3rd gear and then shifted. It was awesome lol.
I have never redlined my ferraris. They are always kept clean in my garage. I never drive over 65 mph the legal limit.
Usually in each time I drive in 2nd gear not first so much as I don't do drag racing, less often 3rd even less in 4th,5th,and never in 6th. Wont do any harm unless you are holding at rev limit for a long period which you would only do on a race track.
I thought you might save that big lie for the Plugzit get together...but I know that will be topped once the brew starts to flow.
A Ferrari that's not been to the redline in at least 4 gears is like a 40 year-old virgin. Kinda sad....
On a road race rack, I take it up to RedLine each and every gear for as long as the session lasts. On the road, at least a dozen times per hour.
I was told by a couple mechanics that revving it to 8000+ was fine but redlining it for real and/or banging it off the rev limiter was really bad for the engine. I do hit 8000rpm multiple times on every ride, though, I've only hit the rev limited maybe 6-7 times ever over the past 40k+ miles by mistake (poor shifting on my part, I guess).
4 yrs (time based) with only 2000 kms put on the car. I had it inspected and the Mechanic said I can get the Major done when I store the car for the winter...ie that its fine for the whole summer time but I'm still a bit hesitant in pushing her.
