This occurred today in Aventura, FL just west of I95. Enzos are rare enough, to have a street sighting is somewhat of an event on this side of the pond. This however, is not the way one wants to view one.

Please excuse my rookie error as this is a duplicate post - with the original being posted in the "General Chat" section.

No, didn't get any shots of the plate and/or VIN. I was heading west on the opposite side of the street and realized what kind of car it was. I grabbed the opportunity to turn around at the next intersection, slowed - grabbed a photo with the Blackberry, and turned around again to resume my route west.

One thing is for sure. There should be no shortage of witnesses. I would love to see the accident report.

Totaled, or just in some kind of fender bender? Totaled and not rebuilt/repaired? Or just totaled without being fixed?

Always get the VIN. Oh, and welcome to FerrariChat.

(but seriously, always get the VIN)

So that equates to what - 100+ wrecked out of 400? WoW!

Actually, Ferrari made more like 500 (ignore all the badges that say '399').

I'll check, but I think 25% is really high.

Okay, I count 20 and maybe one more, predicated on the fact that we can safely double that number as not every incident is seen/recorded/known.

They all have the same plate. None of the Enzos are numbered - the 550 Barchetta was the last limited edition model to be individually numbered. Ferrari denies making more than 400 Enzos. This is the plate each Enzo received:

Can't tell the extent of the damage from the photo, but it doesn't look so bad. Should be back on the road without much fuss. Although, with the carbon tubs, who knows?

Agree but the last six digits is sufficient. Ferraris - specifically the hyper-rare, high-end Ferraris (Enzos, F40/F50 etc.) and/or classics - are tracked by the last six digits of the VIN as well as entered and searchable in the various registries.

Most of the really knowledgable folks on F-Chat communicate the status, whereabouts, history etc. of the cars by VIN more than anything else. It's actually pretty amazing to read some of the exchanges on here and the wealth of knowledge some of these guys have as to specific cars. I honestly believe Mr. Sackey knows what every 288GTO owner had for breakfast this morning <compliment>!

    Cheers :)
