    Hi everybody!

Last weekend I took out my 365 GTC for a drive in Madrid. Sunny, hot Spain! No problem with the air conditioning working fine. After a while, with the car hot after a bit of city driving, I stopped and couldn t start it back. After trying for a while a very short pushing, probably only a meter, and it started inmediately. So not a carburettors problem, drives great!

I m wondering wether fitting an electronic ignition could sort it out. Any suggestions? Similar experiences? Which one is the best to fit? Where can I buy it?

    Thank you!

Could be vapor lock. I have had this problem when NYC get's hot. The manual tells us to turn on the electric fuel pump in this types of situations.

    Thank you.

Is yourself a 330? On the 365 the fuel pump is switched on permanently.

there are 2 fuel pumps on a 365 GTC. perhaps one is intermittent? I've had problems starting a car when hot with a weak fuel pump on a 2 pump system.

I believe the early 365 GTC's use an engine driven fuel pump, fender mounted fuel filter and a conventional switched electric pump in the rear - all similar to the 330 GTC's. The later 365's replaced the engine driven pump (sans fender mounted filter) with a 2nd electric pump. Not exactly sure but the change was somewhere between 12059 (mine) and 12105, the earliest one I've seen without the mechanical pump.

You need to find out why the car would not start. Did the engine crank? If so was there any spark? Was fuel flowing? Dont just chase ghosts and throw money at it. Good luck, Mike
