    I also tested the car but having not driven a 430 before I bought it based on trust. The good thing is we're still alive so be thankful and get on with our lives and live them fullest.....

    Good morning Singapore :)

    I'm back after a retreat to Penang. 2.5hrs from KL to island including crossing the bridge, not too bad & decent hotels but getting expensive! A lot of new developments on the island & the food!

    Distance is about 400km

    The highway from Taiping to & from Penang is quite bumpy though, a lot of dips which will take out your front lip if you go too fast but the stretch between Ipoh & Taiping is really nice, a lot of fast hilly sweeps & a tunnel.

    Of course ;) my poor blackie..... had to endure thousands of miles in EU & then upon leaving Port Klang was sent on another 1000km trip up Penang & back. After all these adventure, the driver's door latch came loose, aircon's screwed & one headlamp bulb blown but otherwise engine & clutch are strong! Testimony of Ferrari's 90s engineering :D

    I found this hotel by chance, it's owned by E & O while the architecture+landscaping is done by my neigbhour in Bangsar, his signature forest look. All rooms are beachfront with an outdoor bathtub for two ;) Usual rate is RM880 but was on offer of just RM480+++

    It's along the Batu Ferringhi beach rather than the oldtown.

    Most are asking RM500+/- but very old hotels while the new HardRock is RM700+

    If any of you boys are interested, I'll organise another drive up later this year. Just an Fchat drive + food.

    My blackie along the Gurney drive night hawker centre. Many stalls sell the same food so look for one with the longest Q.

    The beach fronts it but when it's low tide, it's a mud land.....

    Most good food are found elsewhere. I had to drive almost 30mins to the famous Kek Lok Si temple where you can find one of the best Penang assam laksa. Oh my God, the broth.... bros, it's heavenly but go there before noon!

    You can find the tram ride to the Penang hill round the corner where you'll command the panoramic view of Penang but I didn't go this time.

    Alright, I'm done with Penang. Let me know if any of you are game for a drive+food, I'll recce for you boys. We can also do the usual Cameron highlands or head towards Cherating beach like I did last time.

    Just pull your favourite ride. Doesn't need to be an exotic but best to handle well so you can enjoy it & have decent front clearance or you'll crack the lip.

    Oh boy, what happened bro? Sounds like you've got yourself out of it by now. Could the chassis be so badly damaged? What a shame, that white 430 is a stunning car.

    Yah we should set a date for those keen on a quick weekend get away. If your 456 scrapes then what about mine? You mean the car bottoms out? My heart bleeds everytime I hear that sound.

    Thank goodness, I didn't but I swear I was waiting to hear bottomed out sounds! Guess it helped when I raised my front by 15mm+ last year for KL roads. Those with low fronts need to slow down for the last leg as the two-lane highway has dips of up to a metre or so & one particularly nasty one on a trunk road on Pulau Pinang.

    The NS highway from Melaka to Tuas is so flat, it's a blessing!
