I also took the cats off to inspect them. I could have sworn I took some pics of the insides but I can't seem to place them at the moment. I also replaced the bolts that join the cats to the manifold although I recycled the spring and sleeve...

I've just received these pictures of my freshly painted silver parts. They were done by a fellow ferrari owner - he recommended using the same paint as used on the CS wheels as it has a lower metallic flake content and then topped off with a matt laquar. I also had him paint a spare coolant tank I had kicking around - once I've got a pair of carbon air boxes I'll fit the silver tank a la Stradale.

The finish looks awesome and I can't wait to get them back on the car....

Whilst the engine bay was so accessible I did a quick visual check on the hydraulic clutch block - it looks like it has been replaced with a Hill Engineering item at some point.

I've been having a little difficulty filling the petrol tank right to the top. I have read that the cause might be the fuel vapour canister so when I spotted a job lot of 360 parts on eBay that contained one I put in the only bid and won it, along with a load of other obscure parts, for £15. A new one is £280 so I thought I'd swap it for the second hand one to see if it had any affect.

The canister is located inside the rear wing behind the fuel flap.

    Here's the replacement item.

It also came with the metal bracket which I refurbished.

And it's a good job I did replace it. When it was off I gave it a shake and a load of charcaol bits came out of the vent! Needless to say they are not supposed to come out like this. I'm hoping that this is stopping the tank venting properly and thus the source of my woes at the pump.

Great "documentary series" you've posted. I've thoroughly enjoyed the pics.

I apologize if I've missed it, but what year and how many miles/kms?

Also, what size tires did you end up running on your 18"?

Thanks but I think you need to upgrade your source of porn!

Thanks. The car is a 2001 and is showing 32,500 miles (and rising!). I'm running the same sized tyres as fitted to the standard rims.

Just a note on the charcoal canister - it seems to have done the trick. I put in £120 worth of fuel yesterday without hitch. So much went in I started looking for a leak!!!

One of the jets was blocked so I decided to replace both. Part number is in the pic below and the price is very reasonable at a couple of quid each (cheaper than the jets for the Honda I use to hack around the city in).

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Fitting is dead easy - open the bonnet and pull the old jet out with your fingers. Be careful not to let the pipe pull itself back into the bonnet. I found the new jets were pre-positioned in the correct place but otherwise they can be aimed with the end of a paper clip.

I had all the trims out of the engine bay the other day. Although the hex bolts holding them in were in good order the same couldn't be said for the washers - some were missing, some were the incorrect size and most were bent out of shape. They cost peanuts to buy so I simply replaced them all.

It was pointed out to me (thanks Rob) that the sensor on the dash was missing its cover. I thought that this being a later car than my old one that it was supposed to be like that!

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The part number is 64692400 and lists at around £70. I called round all the people I know breaking 360's - DVB had one but they wanted the list price for it but luckily Prosport had one on the shelf for a reasonable price.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The sensor simply prises up from the dash - take care not to mark the leather. Once it's out a little it can be worked with your fingers.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The bad news was this is as far as the wires allow you to move the sensor. My plans of plug n play with the replacement sensor were over!

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The sensor can be dismantled by releasing a little clip inside. I then used the new cover on my exisiting sensor.

The CS mirrors I bought were LHD items. God knows how the previous two owners of them ever saw anything out of them - they are atrocious in a RHD car as the shape of the glass is all wrong. It is easily remedied though by switching the glass out for the correct ones. I'd like to say a big thanks to Steve at Joe Macari for helping me with sourcing the parts and to Peter at Autofficina for showing me how to change the glass.

Here's the replacement item (drivers side).

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here you can see how it attaches - importantly there's no wire clip on the CS mirrors which is different to the regular ones.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Tilt the mirror downwards to access through the top - you'll be able to get a screwdriver on the top two fixings which will release the top of the glass.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Then tilt the mirror upwards and the bottom will release.

Here's the inside of the mirror:

The new glass simply clips into place:

At this rate, you'll end up with a brand new car really soon.
