Fabulous stuff Aaron, thanks for taking the time out to document your journey. I am currently looking at a number 456's in the UK and after reading your thread I have been inspired into thinking I should personally go pick it up (when I eventually find the right one) and take her for a quick spin through Europe.....particularly Italy....before putting her on the boat!!....Food for thought, thanks.
Cheers Darren, Just be super careful with the Insurance. Next time I would organise Insurance before I bought a car as this nearly stopped me from collecting the car. For example if I was to purchase the Insurance legitimately it would have cost $10,000 AUD for 3 weeks. Being a little creative it was far less, however I doubt that this would have stood up in court if I had an issue......
Good call...if I do decide to pick up personally I am sure I will have a hundred questions ....hopefully it/I will be relatively painless for you
I am really pleased that you guys enjoyed the tour and I look forward to updating you with pictures when the 550 arrives. By the Way, I am currently planning another tour and this time I think that the vehicle may start with 5 and end in 99. Stay tuned for more info in the coming months.......
