Here is another period magazine with an Islero on front cover! An RHD on top of that! The article is one of the most comprehensive (6 pages + front cover) that I have read. A few things worth mentioning: - The finish is described as superb, which is rare for an Islero, and the journalist seemed sincere! Maybe is it due to the fact it is an S model?! - Ferruccio's Islero is mentionned in the article. - The pictures are of an excellent definition giving good clues where the original stickers were for instance. I assume that this is 4441 that is depicted in the article. Hello Isleristi: Allow me to contribute two horrible photos: sorry was in a hurry. Shots taken in a garage in Eaux Vives, Geneva, May 10 last month. Did not have time to enquire about #. best regards, MS Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
.. so it's 6099. I saw it in november 2009 in south west France where a huge collection (including Lambos) was for sale. In which garage is it located ? Still for sale ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mr Fabrice A. I will tell you if you come out from your anonymity: also I am still waiting for information on the Khamsin I contacted you about three months ago. Marc Sonnery
Sorry, I may have missed your question regarding a Maserati Khamsin. Was it a PM or was it posted in this thread, or another one ? I suspect you're confusing me with another person. I guess your stating A as the first letter of a family name. I've an idea about the person you're trying to reach behind 'Fabrice A', and this person is car business, which I'm not. Please let me know if I'm wrong or not.
To make things clear, I'll bet a penny that your stuff is related to : http://www.fa-automobile.com/liste-par-modele.php?voiture-a-vendre=Maserati-Khamsin&id=31&m=157
Correct! I'll have to write you a one cent check! To answer your question it is in a smal garage in Geneva where I park my car when I work there, know how to get there but not the street name plus I don't want to cross privacy boundaries in a public forum and I did not see any for sale sign on it: it seemed to just undergo maintenance. I can however ask next time I go there later this month. best regards, Marc
I thought about the latest topics on this thread when i saw this ad. http://cgi.ebay.de/RETRO-HEBDO-58-LAMBORGHINI-ISLERO-CITROEN-DS-VINTAGE-/390323340472?pt=FR_GW_Livres_BD_et_Revues_Journaux_Revues_Magazines&hash=item5ae11584b8
I didn't mention it in my posts because it is a recent magazine. It is from 1998. Although I am also collecting recent magazines, I am looking for period magazines featuring an Islero, especially when they make the front cover! I really like to read what the journalists thought when the cars were new.
I bought this magazine when it was issued. Nice article which featured a picture of the french importer with chassis number : 6579 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Isleristi: So I went back to Geneva last week and enquired about the Islero 6099 of which I had posted a photo after a previous visit in May. It so happens that even though not advertised it is in fact for sale so I went for a ride in it with the mechanic in charge of the car on behalf of a friend of mine who is interested in buying it: here is a little video I did. We could not go very quickly but watch your ears the windnoise when I stick the camera out the window is very loud sorry! It seemed a good honest car and had been part of a Norwegians collection sited at a French chateau, the one who had 8 Testarossas including an orange one as well as recent supercars. there was quite a lot of internet talk of that collection as it got sold a couple of years ago. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv1mx3pJ9Hc[/ame] Enjoy MS
I went to "Châteaux du sud ouest" to look at it, as well as one of my LCB members. We came to the same conclusion, it was then for sale for a firm 85.000 euro back in 2009. We let it there regarding all the work to be done mechanically... it was not possible to start engine... so looking at your video, it seems to have benefitted of good attentions from skill hands... How much are they asking for by now ? just to measure the expenses done and to see how it is offered compared to the 2 others Islero offered in Europe !
Bonjour Olivier: The price is 110CHF. A friend of mine is intersted. It behaved very well on the road, the lever did jump out of gear once in the parking lot as the mechanic -who is 82 and has 60 years of experience on Modenese cars!- manoeuvered it but I just think he had not slotted it in properly. Headlights came on but did not go up, indicators did not work but as you say a lot has been done and I feel it just needs a bit of sorting. It felt every bit as good, probably better than that Islero I drove quite a bit at Motorcar Gallery in Fort Lauderdale around 2003, 2004. best regards, Marc
Thank you Marc, it means 92.000 or 7.000 invested if they didn't buy it for less than 85.000 . To my appreciation, there is one more ticket of 5.000 to be spent on details, considering that a twin bank cylinders compression check must be OK. Is your friend European and will it leave our continent if purchase concluded ? If your friend is not buying let me know, another LCB member is willing to buy an Islero.
Hello Olivier: What you say sounds about right. My potential buyer for the car is British and has other classic Lambos. Will keep you informed: right now the owner of the car is on holiday so as usual it is very difficult to get anything done in Europe in the summer... best regards, Marc
Olivier: My friend has decided to buy a Maserati he could not resist and will therefore pass on this Islero so if yours is still interested let me know. In the meantime someone, a good guy, has offered me another islero but I am sure they have contacted you too! best regards, Marc
Dear Fellow Lambisti, I wanted to consult you on an Islero that my father and I are forced to sell. My father in particular is in the process of building a house and needs money to fund it. There has been some recent discussion here about the market for these cars and I wanted to guage our proposal: 1968 Lamborghini Islero offered for sale. Chassis No 6183. Comes with original factory option Borrani wheels. Engine rebuilt by Ferrari-Lamborghini specialist J.Wilkie, Buckinghamshire. New stainless steel exhaust installed by Phoenix Exhaust. Recently tuned by MEK Motorsport, Cheltenham. The car comes with a substantial history file. The car is in very good condition: cosmetically original and absolutely solid, presented in its original color exterior and black leather interior. The car is mechanically rebuilt and sorted. The car is located in the UK with all UK/EU duties paid. Asking Sterling £ 68,000- I will take some pictures (and perhaps a video too) of the car this weekend and post them here but below is a shot from a few months back when the car was being tuned over the course of three days by MEK Motorsport. Let me know your thoughts, what information you think we should present when we do advertize the car next week and would be very grateful if perhaps you might have leads for interested parties. With many thanks and kind regards, Arnoud Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Help! I need a few photos of the original hood and trunk pad. Also if possible a photo with some sort of measure help up against the pad so we can see how far apart the stitching is. We are also wondering what the original weather stripping for the doors looks like. 6489 is being detailed for the Quail Lodge show coming up in August. Looking forward to a little car vacation fun. Thanks for any possible help! John
