I test drove the Cali yesterday. What can I say - it's a truly wonderful car. The one I drove was grigio silverstone with 20" diamond spoke wheels and cuoio interior - a beautiful combination.

It rides so smoothly in comfort mode and really can be a beast in sport mode. Drove in the city, on the highway and on a country road. I was able to push it to about 100mph - I loved how it kicks the gears in. The sound is a delight, but I love that it can also be fairly quiet.

Afterwards I sat down with the dealer and configured my perfect Cali. I was surprised when he told me, that they can deliver within 3 months - since I need a new car only mid of next year when moving, I won't order until next May or so.

So I have quite some time to think about my configuration and alternatives, although they don't seem very relevant after the test drive.

What do you think of this?:

Some thoughts how we came to this configuartion:

    - for reference read the other topic nero/nero daytona, cuoio/cioccolato
    - chose nero daytona, because nero should obviously exclusively be handwashed, though to being a very thin paint
    - chose cuoio instead of cioccolato, because cioccolato obviouly heats up a lot, when driving in the sun with the roof down
    - chose the daytona seats, instead of diamond, because they fit the sporty style of the car better in my opinion
    - chose nero upper dash board, because a cuoio dashboard obviously reflects a bit in the windscreen
    - 20" wheels, scuderia shields and giallo brake callipers just float the boat for me
    - I love carbon, but excluded the carbon door stuff, it seems to much

I would suggest the metal foot plates as well. Makes a great look and Nero carpets so dirt doesn't show as much. It's very much like my car.

one of my guests did commented that the daytona seats were uncomfortable... I guess it was due to the daytona "ribbed humps". I felt it too sometimes after an extended drive.... hence, I went back to standard seat for my second Cali. In the end, real comfort matters more to me than the looks.

All the best for your configuration. Have fun with it. The waiting is the hardest part of this whole process.

Are you saying that the standard seats are more comfortable than daytona seats? Are the standard seats available in full electric?

nautilus, I chose nero alcantara carperts. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't like the looks of metal footrests. It's too "cold" for my taste. Can I find some pictures of your car on ferrarichat?

rams, I would be interested in the comparison as well! I actually thought of the daytonas as quite comfortable...

yes it is available in full E.

I am guessing at best that the standard seats being flushed (with no humps) would be more comfortable.

hard to explain.... really. until you have your Cali for some time. It can be subjective as well. It is just that my guest (a skinny female) kept complaining about the comfort of the seat. :D

Sounds like a great spec. Do you care about shields? Or magneride?
Congrats- you will have a blast with her. Great exhaust sound and the retractable top makes the car even more fun.

Totally agree. BTW my daytona seats just got comfy- 20 months and 20 miles!
Had a similar although less pronounced experience with the daytona seats in my 360.
May not order daytona seats when I order my next car.

18k and my seats are comfy. Have been for some time.

If buying new I believe I would opt for diamond seats.

Thanks! If you take a look at the pdf I uploaded, you can see that I included shields, magneride, premium hifi, rearview camera and stuff ;)

And thanks to you and Phil for the comments about the seats! I'll maybe test drive one with diamond stitched seats just for comparison and over think my decision.

Premium hi-fi has gotten poor reviews in the past. On the other hand, The system in the Italia is worth the money.

Agree on seats. My first Cali (had 9 mos) had Daytona's. I now have Diamond stitch standards. Like it much better. This did surprise me as i had Daytona's in a 430. Very different seat config. Daytona's in the 430 were great, didn't like as much in Cali.

diamonds look great in a Cali. my strong hunch is that it will help in resale. consider diamond for the door panel too to complete it.

Diamonds are beautiful and compliment the diamond wheels.

PS. get the black dash as it reduces the reflection on the windshield.
