Are books and tool bag numbered to each Dino or are they generic?
I have a complete set of tools & tool roll and an owner's manual cover in case anyone is looking for them.
Can you specify what year Dino they're from, or better yet post a picture. Since they varied a lot between years, that would narrow down who's interested...which includes me if they're `right' for my Dino.
Don't know for sure but this might be an item to look for from a new sponsor here. www.Ferrariliterature.com. Cody Smith is the guy to talk to. D
I got a complete set of docs plus doc pouch for my 71 246GT Euro from Cody recently. The stuff ain't cheap, but it's in stellar condition.
I have no Dog in the hunt (or...for those thinking my vernanular is crazy) - I have NO interest, but here is what the end object is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320730934276&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT This is about the prefect set I can think to start with...... The warranty book is RHD, but other than that..... I can't say how many RHD book sets have come up, but remove RHD for you LHD guys (like me) and this set is ....... If you have talked about or wanted a set, this is one to look at and bid
Hi there; Here is the difference in buying from me and eBay or other auction site- I will build a set of books that is correct for your car and find a warranty book that is as near to your serial number as possible. They will also be near perfect in condition with the manuals being NOS quality. Not sure I have any blank warranty books left but will check. On an airplane now but would gladly build a set for you. I also have original pouches in as new condition and will select one that is fitting of the books I send. I also offer returns if you are not happy. Please send me an email: [email protected] and I can send scans tomorrow. Regards, Cody
No, the Warranty Card Book has the seller, buyer and the VIN, or you can RARELY find blank replacements
I do not consider the warranty card a 'tool' rather it is one of the 'books'. BTW perfect reproduction blank warranty cards are readily available from Superformance.
Superformance only has certain ones. For example, they don't have the Italian green warranty book used by early Dino's (eg, M-series).
Isn't a blank warranty card somewhat in the nature of a precursor to a fake ID? What is the inherent value of it, since it didn't originate with the car? I don't see the value in having either a blank one, or one filled in as if the current owner were the original purchaser. Am I missing something here? I fully understand wanting to replace a missing document pouch, since they are fungible, and not specific to any particular car. Fred
I don't think you'll be assembling a $5K set of documents using reproductions, I might be wrong on that, I'll defer to tx246.
Thanks! I knew it was one of our members... I think reproductions ARE accepted in judging by the FCA if I'm not mistaken.... I guess now I have clocks, I need a Hang Tag....
At the Austin-Healey 40 Year International Meet at Breckenridge, CO, we swapped our Healey's heater knobs and tires/wheels with a friend of ours whose car was being judged. Worked out great for him! I have already made arrangements with synchro to rent one of his wheel chocks, clock hang tags, and yellow tack cloths for $10/hr (each) the next time we submit our GT for judging. That way synchro can keep on making his rent payments, and then I can just kick back and enjoy my next fifth of Scotch instead of trying to source "all the minutiae of distress upon distress" (Jane Austen). Better yet, I'll just rent one of synchro's Dinos or one of Shawn's . . . I can smell the Platinum just dreaming about this.
