Official Information for "Thunder In the Pines"

Based on feedback from the SMCC&C and WCC&C it appears that we have all come up with and agreed on a joint date for an end of the Summer Drive.

The Destination will be NJ MotorSports which is hosting some pretty exciting "Advance DE & Cup Racing" that weekend.

Below is the information and I have attached a pdf with this information.

End Point: NJ Motorsports, Millville, NJ

Not to ask a dumb question, but what exactly is racing at NJMP? I might come up if I can as a spectator. Also, what would cost be for a spectator?

This. Cherry Hill is about 50 minutes North East from Wilmington and out of the way, considering NJMP is about an hour South East from Wilmington. Maybe we can find an intersecting meeting spot for the two groups? Either way.. I'm in.

The map program says that the address is the Garden State Pavillions Shopping Center. Meet at the Starbucks?

 

Racing at NJMP depends on the class of cars racing. Basically, it's 2 road courses. Sometimes they have rally racing there, where the course will go off track and into the dirt. Parking is usually $15 or free if you're in a Subaru.

Response: Jared/All: The weekend of August 28th Schattenbaum PCA will be hosting Advanced DE, Club and I believe Cup Racing.....there will be everything from Porsche, Ferrari, BMW & Etc racing on the track...and while not a true "race" weekend like this past weekend when NJMP hosted the "Rolex/GrandAm Series" at Thuderbolt....there will be everything from Street Cars Running DE.......to heavily modified ex/street cars (AKA "Track BeastS") running. All in all it is a great event with some great races going on......just the walk in paddock is worth the trip alone.

Response: while it may be shorter to drive straight there for you guys and your welcome to meet us there.......you'll miss out on a "drive" we have planned thru the backroads from Cherry Hill to Millville, NJ

 

I look forward to coming up there and seeing cars race on a track for the first time. Thank you for all the information and hopefully I could meet up with you guys if you don't mind.
