    Hi Guys,

I am just wondering what the next Ferrari will be after the 458, and FF?

They must be a fair way through design/development wouldnt they be?

Has there been any leaks that people can share links to?

If I had to guess I'd guess KERS in 2015.

I'd bet you're right. I wonder also if something designed to compete with the philosophy/technology in the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento might also be in the works.

    Lightness would be good.

The bottom line is that there is no way to meet coming MPG/EURO/EPA regulations without Turbo's and KERS.

As for the next Enzo IMO still a ways away.

The last Enzo will be the last of the Monsters.

I'm glad PF used one to make Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina.

F1 rules would have zero to do with it, or we would have had V6's in 1981~

The next car will be a 488, I'd guess.

We may be living in the golden age of super cars. 20 years from now, people may look back and wonder how we could have been so crazy, so wasteful, so enviromentally incorrect, and so arrogant -- and at the same time made objects so marvelous.

Seriously -- the cars of the future are not all they are cracked up to be. Diminished resources, increased costs of insurance and fuel, increased expenses involving safety and fuel regulations, and (I personally think) restrictions on performance and speed will make the next generation of super sports cars have more in common with a Smart Car than we would like to admit.

The emasculation of the automobile. Almost inevitable under the current global governance.

Wouldn't that be the 256 Hydronello.

I've always wondered what an ultra high revving 12 cylinder running on propane would be like. For that matter....why didn't propane ever take off? Would definitely meet emission requirements and not require high pressure storage like hydrogen and is more readily adapaptable to gas burning engines. Seems like Chevy made propane burning trucks in the 80's briefly, then converted the remainder of those engines to carbs and they became famous for being terrible.

I think cars like the Porsche 918 Spyder are a (strong) hint as to where we're headed -- quicker, faster, lighter, more efficient. There's also a Jag prototype (CX?) that promises performance at those levels. Ferrari could probably get there with KERS and other technology as F1 focuses on efficiency. I don't think they'll get there with a "459".

In 20 years, I bet people will look at big metal engine blocks and gearboxes as a bit of a joke. Too much energy wasted as heat, too heavy, too complicated, too much wasted motion, etc.

In some ways, the 458 is just a rebodied 308 with modern technology replacing carbs, steel, gauges and driver intervention. There is a ton of room to make future cars better.
