Does anybody have any motel recommendations in Aspen on 8/3? Looking for a nice place w/o breaking the bank. It doesn't have to be in Aspen, anywhere nearby, or even in Vail will work.

    Thx, Dale

Hotel Jerome is my favorite. Great feel of the old Aspen. If you want low budget with very low amenitites but great location in town try Chalet Lisl.

Glenwood Springs (on I-70, between Vail and Aspen) might be a good place to look. a number of chain hotels/motels there (Hampton, Ramada, etc).

There are currently a number of great deals being offered by Vail hotels (can check the Vail Daily website, maybe, or Vail.com?). The Four Seasons is aggressively pricing, believe it or not. You can also try the Holiday Inn in West Vail. There are plenty of others: the Roost Lodge in West Vail and Moutain Haus in Vail just to name a couple.

Anyway, enjoy the visit. The weather has been phenomenal here lately.

Vail is two hours away. Glenwood Springs is 45 minutes down valley and is only 6,000 ft. above sea level so it is 90F+ vs 80F in Aspen and Vail.

Mountain Chalet is old and reasonable in the heart of downtown Aspen. Limelight is brand new a block away and sometimes has deals.

Really? I had no idea. I'm married too and have never picked up there. I just like the hotel.
