Recently I spent some time at a charity track day, most of these kids are terminally ill and those arent are orphans, I think meeting these kids had a rather profound affect on everyone. There were a few Ferrari's present and the the enthusiasm these kids had when they saw the cars was something else. I was assisting with making sure they were all strapped in securely for their trips around the track (not fast laps but brisk laps) and there was one guy who who had a profound affect, terminally ill, not expected to make a year at most. His face after a lap in 348 spider really brought a huge lump to my throat. Spending times with this kids, all of which were smiling despite being in bleak situations did bring perspective, each day is truly precious, each moment one to appreciate and savour.

Related to this, what would your ultimate bucket list of Ferrari experiences be, those things you would really want to experience and do.

    In no particular order

    - Just sitting in a 412P or a 330 P4, looking over those evocative front wings, feeling the history.
    - Standing at those famous factory gates, the moment would be special just thinking whats driven out of them over the last 60 odd years, the legends who have walked through them.
    - Driving a Ferrari "enthusiastically" in Italy.
    - Taking part in the Mille Miglia Tribute
    - Watching a Ferrari win at Monza.
    - Seeing a 250 GTO in the metal
    - 355 or 360 spider in the Tuscan Hills, roof down, sun setting on the horizon, the scream of the V8 behind me.
    - Driving a Ferrari down to Monterey Car Week( and enjoying all the great events!)
    - A passenger ride in a F40 and Enzo.

Those are just some of the ones that spring to mind, if I thought about I am sure many more would surface.

Thus what would your bucket list of Ferrari experience consist of?

I'd be happy if my 456 GT could go for a week or more without the CEL or SLOW DOWN lights coming on.

    That would make me happy.

Why would I want to sit or ride in someone else's car, when I have my own?

I haven't been able to road trip my new toy, for fear of some catastrophe developing and leaving me stranded far from Portland.

Soon ... pulled the intake today, changing manifold and sensor: relief may be in sight.

for me, the ultimate "bucket list" Ferrari experience would be to drive a modern F1 car (i.e. corse clienti).

I'm pretty lucky. I don't have a bucket list. I've been satisfied with my owning and driving experiences.

Would I like to own or drive some other cars? Yes. But if I couldn't, it wouldn't bother me.

I kinda find it sad people make lists like these. Because, if they never get the chance to do any of them, it seems like some kind of failure. I never looked it liked that. You get one chance and you do the best you can. Life brings what it does. And, it's always too short.

Like the OP, I have done a couple of days for kids (at the second one I was told 70% of those from the first were no longer with us...) and seeing how much enjoyment these cars give them should remind us all of what fun they are - even the so-called 'boring' Ferraris are amazing to those who don't have one in the garage.

For my bucket list, I'd just like to be able to drive my 308 in the hills the way Enzo intended without having to watch the damn speedo more than the road...

PS I'm fortunate to have achieved some holy grails like the factory and saw John Surtees drive his F1 car at Goodwood last year; and saw Ferrari win at Monza!

I have dreams.... But the bucket list is fairly simple. I want to see a 288 GTO, hear a V12 climb to redline even just being a passenger, and drive a Ferrari. After that, I'd be happy to keep dreaming.

In one sense you are right but at the end of the day lists like these are something to aim for.

Agreed, if I never get to experience some of these things it wont bother me hugely either but in an ideal world with an idea set of circumstances....

To the OP, very touching post and it's great to see car enthusiasts of all makes getting out there and making a difference in the lives of others.

Being the age of 19, I have been fortunate enough to "check off" about 90% of the Ferrari things on my bucket list including driving one (driven 4 now), driving one on the track, and seeing some that most people just fantasize about with pictures. Only two I have left:

    1. Own one.
    2. Visit (and tour) the factory in Maranello.

-Own a 360 Modena, in my desired specs
-Go for a spirited ride in an F40
    -Tour the Factory in Maranello
-See an F1 Race in person

The thrill of the ride is something we all live for, whether you're an owner or passenger. Those who have the means and share the thrill with others are an asset to the world.

    1) See P 4/5 and 0846. Any of the others Mr G "has around" are gravy. :)

    A ride in a 288 GTO.

Sit in, perhaps ride in a vintage Testa Rossa.

    very cool thread.
