    Hey Guys, Don't know if this has ever been posted, so here it is. I have refinished firearms for many years and generally use Duracoat (Laurer) and Cerakot (NIC Ind.). These are both 2 part super hard and wear resistant coatings. I have seen quotes to refinish Fcar brakes as high as $4000! For very minimal investment (compressor $100, Dbl Action airbrush $50) anyone can do this. I garantee these finishes will last longer than any regular paint. You can get these 2 coatings in many different colors, including all the popular Fcar colors. Just FYI.

    Looks like you might need DuraHeat for brake calipers. They get toastier for longer than guns. How do the coatings affect heat dissapation?

    +1. Think of doing a 3-4 100 round CMag dumps with an M16 and a AAC M4-2000 suppressor. That kind of hot.

    On most rifles I use Duraheat on barrels or suppressors. Cerakote works just fine hot or cold. Cerakote just came out with all kinds of new colors for auto and marine applications. I think you can get away with 350 degrees with duracoat before it would peel off. Duraheat is probably good up to 850 degrees maybe a little more.
