    Craig,

Since the last couple of years we keep saying that Jack's car has 250000 miles, I bet he has now several 1000s more!

Philippe, You are correct, I think we need a 24/7 webcam on Jack's odometer to keep track of mileage........... or Jack could tweet us everytime he drives. Let's get Alberto to get him him set up.

Here is a nice shot of 0982. The red/tan combination looks great!

Better yet, get Jack to let me drive it once a month and I'll report back.

Well, I am not sure how Jack would react to mandatory odometer check....but if were for historical records....maybe?

White letter tires on exotics look a little "muscle car" to me. White walls are not attractive to me either. Just my opinion

When I was younger i wanted BBS wheels on the Miura.....not anymore. I still like BBS wheels however.

Boy, must have been a slip of the keyboard! (or my brain)

You're right Craig, good call, should be:

    Chassis 1039
    Engine 1022

I should correct that. I lost my ftp program when my computer crashed 6 months ago and haven't reinstalled one. But I will!

    Cheers,

    Fred

    Excellent, thanks.

Both pretty "unspecial" cars, so those are healthy estimates.

    Nice to see.

Doesn't it? I just don't understand why folks can't get these cars at the right height. I think one problem is that the 2+2s were jacked up in the back (for the "+2" passengers) so maybe the restorer is confused and jacks up the front. Or they mix the springs, I've seen that on at least one award-winning car.

    Oh well...

A fresh restoration and they can't get the wipers straightened out? Sigh...

Hi Kevin, Do you have any more current photos of 1039 please?
Is it painted Azzurro Fiat? Senape interior?
    Thanks

These dead pedals are adjustable from front to rear via slots and wing nuts. They are painted flat black all over, but then over sprayed with wrinkle black on the face side.
Once the rubber pedal is installed, just the small bracket surface is visable with wrinkle black.

Looks like the one Gary Bobileff has at his shop. Looks pretty nice, although I suspect the color is not original (very metallic). Gary rebuilt the engine, not sure when.

Rear view picture, still with the US rear lights.

I also think it’s Azzurro Fiat and the interior is indeed senape. Original colour was Grigio Argento

    Chassis: 01039
    Motore: 1022
Body number: 23903 and the owner confirmed that it has a Marazzi body

With the weight savings, you can expect a tremendous increase in gas mileage, but it is all down hill after that.

Thanks Kevin, nice photo. How do you confirm a Marazzi body as opposed to Touring?
Something more than lack of Touring badges?
    Cheers

Based on the period pictures the only difference I can see are the emblems.

    1. Touring wings: seen on the Touring bodies but not on the Mazazzi bodies
    2. Superleggera script on the bonnet: the last units were probably delivered without the script
    3. Touring wings and Superleggera script on the bootlid: on the touring units and early Mazazzi but not on the late Marazzi, not known where the change took place but the last units were for sure delivered without

It will be difficult to know where exactly the drop of emblems took place, some were added or removed, but the above is the rule of thumb.

I don’t know how the owner got the information but he was very confident that it is a Marazzi body.

Just to throw my .02 in :)

Don't forget that emblems are often either left off, added, were never there, or...fell off? (haha)

I've never been a big fan of id via emblems, but that's not to say it's not a perfectly valid way to go if the car is honest to its original configuration. The question is always -- is it?

I just wish we had a "slam-dunk" way to confirm Marazzi bodies. Maybe I'll actually make an effort this month and compare mine with Jack's. There has to be something!

    Cheers,

    Fred
