Anybody else catch the show tonight? I was rolling on the floor lmao and I'm glad I watched it, the makeshift bong was classic.

 

I just watched it.

The boot trick was funny. Like he (hobbit kid) asked the 'dog' i can't tell if he's supposed to be dead or hallucinating after taking the pills. Maybe in a coma or sumpin'? The credits revealed that it was based on an Australian (i think) series. Maybe someone has watched it and has a clue.

 

Haven't seen it yet, but i am now in love with Fiona Gubelman! She is beautiful.

 

I tried to watch last night but it was just too ridiculous. And not that funny IMO in even a raunchy way. A waste of Elijah Wood’s talent as he tries to make a living as a grown up movie star.

 

Well, after six episodes, what's the consensus?
It's not for everybody, much like Curb Your Enthusiasm. You either "get it" or you don't. Personally, I think it's funny as he11. Last night's show had a moment (dialog) that had to have universallyelicited an "ewww." (If you saw the show, you know what I mean) But that's part of the show's appeal. I'm curious what U.S.-based Aussies think of the FX version...as funny as the original? Did the original have a comparable level of pot smoking as the FX version? Was Jason Gann a comedian before starring in this show?

I haven't read this comparison before but I've described the show to friends as a really dark Calvin & Hobbs.

Last episode that I watched was the peanut butter episode. Need to catch up over the wekend. Pretty good show but I like Archer too.

 

I like it seems to be getting funnier.

 

You hit the nail on the head in that 'you either "get it" or you don't'. I have been catching up on episodes I have missed because it coincides with other shows I love (Suits and Against The Wall) but I just dig the whole dynamic.

 

I love how when he went to doggie daycare he was dressed up like a kindergartener with a baseball cap and little backpack. The show can be pretty funny but mostly it boils down to weed humor, and that seems to occupy too much of the plotline.

 

The season finale was excellent and well done.
