Several people here have commented on this swap. The 599 is not as agile as the 430 but I don't think it makes it all the way to GT. My SL65 is a GT. A very fun car more comfortable and faster than My 430. I had the 430 for 4 years I guess we will see how I like the 599 in 4 years. I do know that I rarely see a 599. I do like the ceramic brakes. It also draws less attention maybe because it is black instead of red.

Congratulations- shes a beauty. People will not immediately react to the car at a distance but when they get up close and realize what it is, their eyes open real wide. :)

The car is more agile than you might notice when you're not pushing her- unfortunately, the only way to really experience this is to really push and that can't be done on the public roads.

I didn't know until now that SL65 is faster than F430.

She looks great and you will soon find out that it's V12 is a masterpiece. Enjoy, drive safe and in 4 years from now, you will be very happy with the decision you've made.

A beautiful car indeed. I also went from a 430s to the 599. I love it but wish I could
put the top down. I always get red/tan but when I see a black one I drool and wonder....?
    Enjoy!

Hi, congrats to your new car. I also have an sl65, and want to move to 599. So I have a question do you feel that 599 is faster and more comfortable than sl65?

I had a 355 for about 15 years. I looked at the 360 and the 430 and while they were great cars I could not justify the trade. I drove a 599 and I was sold. The F1 superfast is miles ahead of the older F1s. I just recently parted with my 599 and I definitely miss it.

Just sold a black 430 spider for a Bentley GTC. Needed the four seats for a second car. Also thinking about a black 599 for a third car. Want something a little less flashy more mature than the spider. Any other comparisons between the two cars would be appreciated .I would rather not test drive one now because I know it would definitely accelerate the quest.

Compared to a 430 the 599 is much smoother around town. The seats are very comfortable and you can fit a weekends worth of luggage in the trunk. Getting in and out of it is easy and it is a much more comfortable daily driver. The acceleration is explosive. I have driven a 458 and a new Turbo S which are faster to 60 but neither feel as powerful or exciting under acceleration.

You need to drive one. They are quite a bit different than the lighter weight mid engined models. I enjoy driving my cars on the road and going on road trips. If you like track days then I doubt you would be happier with the 599. The 599 is not a soft car by any means but it is large and its weight make it less sporty than the 430.

I had one of the original Bentley Continental GTs and the 599 is a real drivers car where the GT was more of a fast luxury car.

The SL65 is a little more comfortable and maybe not quite is fast. The interior trim of a 599 is much higher grade. The 599 handles better. And of course the Sl65 is a roadster. I like to have one car that is fun to drive that I dont worry about valets or where I park it. The SL65 is that car for me. Few really know what it is except the valet's.
