612 on the D902......

Lovely drive, factastic road, especially from Seez down to Susa in Italy. This leg started in Chamonix, across to Bourg St. Maurice on the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard.........than south on the D902.......then onto the D1006 and into Susa.

This was by far the best driving in the ten days of Alpine passes. So much better than the Stelvio/Umbrail type "far too many switchback" roads. Long sweeping bends with more than enough action (i.e. drop-off) to make it interesting.

If you click the map link, scroll down until you see D902 mentioned in the route list and click that road. Then click the yellow man next to the text and you'll get street view of the road........some fantastic scenery.

Here's a clip of a crazy local chasing me down a mountain pass in his Porsche. Not much competition on the windy stuff between a 612 and Porsche.........but fun nevertheless........at least until he left me for dead on a blind bend overtaking two cars at shocking speed.........geez, I must be getting old.

Could well be, my brakes were hot by that stage so I was easing off, I'm just not that good a driver.

He took off like a stabbed rat when he had the room.

The brakes started squealing a bit and losing some feel after half a day of drivinig passes. Might have been me wrongly associating the squealing from heat with a lessening of feel. As said, I'm not the most experienced driver on here by a long stretch. The first clip was towards the end of a two hours of pretty much constant fast(ish) downhill action.
