Always had such a feeling when looking on different pictures... but never could really say or identify. Now it's obvious.

Recently we've seen some great period vintage magazine articles ...
in this thread ... So.... Why not .....

    Speaking of articles

I have a Spaniard magazine featuring the now famous Ferruccio visit to Don Eduardo Miura
at his ranch in Sevilla including some "never published before pics" at least I had never seen them

My point is ; these spaniards journalists wrote the story in a very different way
and almost contradictory to the one I just read in the Bible

They even mention Ferruccio asked Don Eduardo what has been his favorite bull in order to call an eventual car after it

Don Eduardo quickly and proudly answered ; Perdigon .

"George Albert Harley de Vere-Drummond is a minor British aristocrat, best know for being the biological father of director Matthew Vaughn. He was born at Windsor castle in 1943, the son of Capt George Drummond, a direct descendant of Andrew Drummond, the founder of Drummonds Bank. He is also the godson of the late King George VI"

and Miura owner. Anyone know which one?

the 4th Miura built delivered to Don Eduardo ...

Was it given as a gift or present for free
or Don Eduardo had to pay for it just like every other costumer ?

That would help explain it all ....

btw where is it now ?

I pulled out my notes on 4256, and realize I have some interesting information on George Drummond. The current owner of 4256 (Mel F) tells me that HM Customs & Excise had 4256 in their possession for a long time, and he has a sheaf of rather interesting documentation. Allegedly, the car was being used to import a rather large quantity of illegal drugs into the UK when it was seized. That was circa 1971 when George was arrested and jailed for 4 years following a quarter million pound Amex travelers checks theft that he was allegedly involved in. Apparently his Eaton Square house was raided by the police during a dinner party attended by his friends pop singer Sandie Shaw (whom he lent his Miuras to for promo etc) and future James Bond actor George Lazenby.

Sandie Shaw on George's Miura from an era when skirts were short. Very short.

Sandie Shaw & Miura again in her TV show for a taping of her 1966 hit "Route 66". She was part of the fast Drummond circle of jet-set friends.

I hadn't heard that before. Probably thought he was untouchable in such an expensive and exclusive car!

What a beauty, and Miss Shaw's legs aren't bad either!

I suppose you're talking about the article published on Clásicos Exclusivos magazine; I'm the author. I talked to Alfonso Amato's daughter (Amato was the Lamborghini importer at that time and the person who accompanied Ferruccio Lamborghini to Seville), and Eduardo Miura's sons, so I think I'm pretty well documented and can answer all your questions.

The first was the first right hand one made, this was hit by a lorry while parked. The second was sold in France after been taken there by a friend who left it there and incured parking charges! At no time were either cars impounded for drugs or anything else. Hope this helps straighten things out.
    Sincerely,
    George Drummond

What damage was caused to your first Miura when hit by the lorry? Was it a right off?

Can't believe I used the words 'right off' above. Meant to ask Mr Drummond if his first Miura was a 'write off' after the lorry hit it?

And can we hear of some more Miura exploits? Anything like Mr De Villeneuve's 120mph down Bond Street??

Thankfully it was not written off! The lorry did stop and left anote on the car saying:
Bystanders think I am leaving my details sorry---.No details but someone took the no. and it was traced and insurance or owner accepted full liability, I iarthen got the second one. A bit of trivia the fastest legal speed on a British road was done by Alain de Cadnet while testing his car for Le Mans(can't remember make) was 221M.P.H. I did 219 in my Ferrari LM.
This was worked out using revs and final drive ratio. Done on the M1 at 0500.

Thanks for your reply. What damage was done to it (4256)? Any pics of the car? Don't you mean fastest illegal speed that Alain De Cadanet did or was this before the 70mph limit? Which LM did you have? Some truly fantastic cars you've had.

I'm a bit confused now. Which car did you have first? If you see the upper link above it says that you were the first owner of 3027, a LHD P400 but you say the car hit by a lorry was the first RHD one made and after that you got the second one. 4256 is a RHD Miura P400S in the lower link above.

If 4256 was the first RHD Miura and as it's a P400S that means that all P400 were LHD and no RHD???
