He actually waxed MS on at least 10 days, and that is a hell of a lot more than any other teammate Schumy ever had. The reason MS moved over for RB at the USGP is because he felt obligated to due to the Austria situation. I guess I could go back and look at all the times RB whipped him. The bottom line is he has had valid reasons to ***** and this year is another one of them. He scored a ton of points for Williams last year while whipping the supposed star Hulkenburg (who ended up having RB whip his sorry ass) and because everyone doesn't remember how great Hulk was supposed to be and is always watching the pointy end of the field, no one noticed. Same thing happen during the year with Brawn. RB got ****ed so many times during that season with mechanical failures (about 6 more than JB if I recall) and no one ever even raised an eyebrow. It was unfreaking real. Call him what you will, but he is a good driver and Teams don't put someone in a Formula One cockpit with teams like Ferrari, Williams, and Brawn more than anyone else in Formula One history unless they can drive. +1 Paraphrasing Viz, "bashing Rubens is a bit like hitting your sister - No matter how annoying she is, it's just wrong"...... He woulda, coulda, shoulda been been WDC, just didn't come his way. But he's worthy of the "hall of fame" for his longevity at least. (IMO) Cheers, Ian
Ohhh big mod, so scary. Sorry, but I made the thread, don't have to like Rubens (don't like Rubens) and I'll say whatever I please in it, thanks. Do not tell me to STFU when I haven't said anything even remotely out of line.
Well no ****. I'll bet he still complains about Austria though. Wah...MS gave him one. Not really, the team is obviously working hard and coming up with new parts. He should shut up and drive. He's not an engineer and obviously has little talent at developing a car looking at this year's results. He is a hired driver, aka he should get in and drive rather than comment on aerodynamics or what parts are needed where. His whining was annoying when he drove for a good team, now it's kinda amusing/pathetic. I noticed. Has nothing to do with the fact that he accused the team of favoritism 1/4 of the way through the year like a little girl. Of course he can drive, he's a great number TWO like I said and a good driver. The guy has had a good, long career. I think you're assuming that I think he is the worst driver on the grid or something when really I just can't stand his perennial whining. I think it's time to call it a day, though. Even Maldonado would have more points than him if he and LH didn't have that crash in Monaco.
The only comment I will agree with. Otherwise you all need to relax and stop acting so bloody precious. Has this board been taken over by a bunch of menapausal blouse wearing whimpy girls or something? Rubins didn't get the job done, end of story. Heck most F1 drivers can say the same thing ... yawn. Pete
Hahaha I was going easy on him, your allowed to slam a home boy .. I didn't realize he had had so many bad starts...
If I were him I would never stop pissing and moaning about being told to move over on a racetrack as a racing driver (which I did for 10 years albeit only at an amature level) because even I know what the purpose of racing is...to win. If you want a driver on your team who doesn't mind moving over to let someone else win, then I would not want you as my team principal. Hell, I would WANT my driver to be pissed. If he wasn't I would be worried. Maldanado is just someone else who can't find a way to beat RB, like many others that have been his teammates, and I tend to respect the decision making about RB and his talents from those like Jackie Stewart and Ross Brawn over someone on Fchat. It is time for him to call it a day - just like Schumy who continues to get his ass whipped by his teammate. Just my .02 Of course he can drive, he's a great number TWO like I said and a good driver. Again, you act as though this was commonplace. It was one race and MS gave him a win later that year. Big deal. Rubens would get his ass kicked so bad by Nico it wouldn't be funny.
I'll never forget how he helped schumi and Ferrari, however, he's lucky at this age he's in an f1 car, yet he still does what he does best...complaining.
It still beats doing what you or I are doing...I would rather be him whining about a sorry F1 car than working for a living. MB
I don't have an issue with him driving whatever car...It's just his complaining is so predictable. If i were him, i'll give up my seat for someone who values it even more, and doesn't complain. He left Ferrari, and he left Brawn...
Yeah, but he left Ferrari because he knew he would never get a fair shake with Schumi there, and Brawn shut down and sold to MERCEDES... MB
I doubt it. I seriously think Rubens would have won the 2007 and 2008 WDC, had he been patient enough.
How would I know? I've never asked him or anyone else who might actually KNOW the answer to that. I think being paid millions of dollars to drive for what was then the best team on the grid is a pretty good gig.
