Cigarplace.biz is by far the cheapest and most reliable shop I buy from.

For 20 inexperienced smokers, buy something with a connecticut shade wrapper that won't make them dizzy.

Corona sized Macanudos or for a bit more, Montecristo Whites would be perfect IMO.

Everything I looked at was not only more expensive than cigarsinternational and JR, they were also sold out...?

Forgot to mention that I'm on their mailing list. They send weekly specials out that discount a wide range of cigars I buy. Often 10-15% off their price.

They often sell out of popular cigars briefly due to their demand.

Just checked Cigar International. A few price checks were higher than my local brick and mortar shop. I guess we buy different cigars? *shrugs.

Ah, yes. I have been smoking Alec Bradley Tempus and Padron 4000 Maduro lately since i got the padron bundle of 25 for $90 from Cigarplace.biz (was a weekend sale).

I'm not saying I am fully commited to any particular place, if I can find a better deal, I'll jump on it.

I've got to try some Saint Luis Rey.

Hah! Thanks for the advice. I have been steering clear of very full bodied cigars lately.

I've been using Cigar.com (note no "S" on the end of cigar otherwise you end up at JR) but it looks like the sites you guy use might be cheaper. The prices at Cigar.com seem to be a bit less than my B&M store and significantly so on some of the upper end lines though.

I'm pretty well stocked right now for as much as I smoke but when I'm ready to order some more I'll have to remember these places.

    Thanks!!

    :)

Nothing worse than anticipating and getting a nice new box you don't like when you get them...

Even though they will all take them back it's still a letdown.

Bob I lit up the Cafe Con Leche tonight. It was a good smoke overall but the sweetness of the wrapper kind of threw me. I think like you mentioned it would be a good smoke to end a multiple stick night on. Great draw and nice burn and I liked the flavors of the smoke but the sweetness just seemed to be a little overdone for my taste.

It would definitely be worth having a few on hand for something different though. I like the two bands of wrapper, that gave it a bit of a different taste once into the second section!

My buddy's cousin is a rep for Olivia and had left me a half dozen last time he was in town. Lit up one of the V Series Double Robusto (5x54) last night and left me nauseous! It had a great draw and good taste. I could tell it was a big cigar but never have I felt like that after something of this size. I have one more, I'm going to post it on the trade section...some of you might actually prefer these babies!

Had the worst cigar of my life the other day...

Drew Estate "Java". Bought it on a whim.. GROSS. It almost chemically burned my lips BEFORE lighting it. It was $9!! These should be sold at 7-eleven's, not cigar shops.

I've never really tried cigars in a serious way before, but with the discovery of a hops-flavored craft beer cigar online, I decided to give it a shot. Any advice for a newbie? One of my friends smokes cigars fairly regularly, and we talked a little today about the finer points of how to smoke a cigar. He suggested a cigar punch rather than any other cutting implement.

I'm no expert but this thread has a lot of great suggestions in it. Read through from page one and take some notes. Buy a few and find out what fits your taste and budget.

As for the punch or cutter it depends on what you're smoking. I like a punch because it's more compact and easy to carry but it won't work well on a torpedo style smoke either!

Hey John, I need to section this site more frequently! Yes, the CCL is a bit sweeter than average. I smoke one abut once a month and usually right after smoking 1, 2 or 3 others in a sitting, or sometimes after something really strong.

Anyway, is ANYONE here going to the Big Smoke LV Oct 28-30? My buddy and I just pulled the trigger on the tickets for the Friday night session and the Sat-Sun day events too.

Have a new favorite, reasonably priced cigar!! Smoked a Partagas Serie S Perfecto last night. It was amazing!!! I've never had a cigar with more complex, well defined flavors that were not harsh or overpowering like this cigar.

It started creamy, sweet start with notes of cedar and spice following, changed to a more robust spice, and had a faint leather and earthy finish.

Fantastic cigar for $7. I'm buying a box asap.

I've not had one. I'm branching out into cigar brands I haven't smoked or have not smoked in years. I'll be sure to check one out to compare the serie s to.
