So over $500 in US ...

I think not. The one Jim made is just an inexpensive over sized stamped steel socket wrench (truck sided) that's been cut out and nicely lined with rawhide using some rivets. I bet it's under $60 in materials. But if you want one that comes ready to go that's the only one I saw that's readily available. There are lots of much less expensive alternatives available for some of the other styles of spinners though.

Ever see one of these bad boys? It's got dual rotating impact weights and a nylon fitting that slips over a three eared spinner. I don't use it so much for the Espada, but it comes in handy for the deep dish rear wheels on the GT40 where you can't whack with a hammer very well.

I haven't seen that one. Where do you get it and does it actually work on the Espada/Miura spinners? I think that might be a lot to carry under the spare or does it fit?

One of the guys over in the GT40 forum made it for me. I'm not sure if he is still making them. It is certainly not a piece you take with you, being quite heavy and large. It's beautifully made and finished, though. It makes a great conversation piece. I leave it sitting out along the wall like a piece of sculpture.

I know a guy who vintage races a replica GT40. He recently got the car. He might need one of those and not even know it ... :)

It looks very clean. If it goes for the 30-40k estimate it'd be a good buy. RM has four Lamborghinis, three of which are going across the block on Friday night. I'm hoping to be there.

Car is in Norway , where I live.

Currently under restoration , will remake bumpers to europe spec. Car is rust free , engine is turning and all electric works. Carburators are now restored , then starter, clutch main/slave + brakes are in the works. Need to redo all interior , seats are now at professional shop to rebuild totally with new cushions and all that is needed.

I hope to be able to use it in 2013 , this is a realistic time frame. I will try to start the engine very soon ,but need the clutch system fixed and the starter restored first.

Bobileff in San Diego have alot of parts and can get me almost anything he does not have in stock. Try him !

I will keep you updated on the project... This car will be alive , again. Best regards ; Jon Venstad.

    Hi,

On page 448 of the Miura page, Jota 5084 has posted a picture of the Shah of Iran SVJ after its arrival in Dubai ( ?).

If I remember correctly, the SVJ was bought along with about ten other cars. In the picture that has been posted, next to the Miura is a yellow Espada. Does anyone know that Espada ? Was it indeed sold alongside the Miura ? Was it actually owned by the Shah ? Any answers or feed back would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Ramin

Espada S1 #7099, this car in the Shah collection and sold at Brooks auction in March 1997.

Later the car was owned by Nicolas Cage.

Last I heard about the car was that it went to a museum in Turkey.

I remember seeing one on the freeway about 2 years ago. As it was passing a Toyota (Camry I think), I remember thinking "Wow, that Toyota sure is big compared to the Espada."

It's very low which helps but it's also very long. I have about 8" left in the front of my garage at my condo.

I measured the length of my wife's Acura as well as an Espada, when I was seriously considering buying one. It turns out the Espada is basically the same length as the Acura (if memory serves, it's actually an inch shorter). So, not as long as it visually projects.

Acuras like most cars have grown. No it's not Eldorado long. It's a couple inches shorter than my Jag STR which is BMW 5 series sized.

All late model cars are relatively enormous compared to older cars. So are late model people.

Here I thought it was that Italian steel that shrinks over time. :)
