Well I just got my dream car, picked it up in so cal yesterday and was driving back home to sacramento, Had a blow out on the front tire in the middle of no where, phone reception sucked bad. Try and find a tire for this car on the fly, almost impossible. Found this shop named Castros tires in kern county off of i-5 what great people, they finallly got one and replaced it for me. Other than that car drove great, I need some time to learn the f1 transmission. Need to get the car cleaned up and go for a drive today.

Wow, I got a flat on my first day as well... That was a year ago and haven't had any issues with mine at all. These are great cars! AND you got the right color too!

Congrats and enjoy the greatest car in the world!

Very lucky that you were able to get fixed up.

I carry the small spare and tool kit from Ferrari. I don't want to be left stranded!!!!

    Good Luck... no more flats!!!

Congratulations on your 430. I got mine just over 3 weeks ago and have driven it almost 2000 miles. It is such an amazing vehicle. You will love it!!!

You know its kinda funny, When I first started to look at getting one of these my wife said i was going through some sort of mid life crisis I said so what at least Im not chasing a bunch of skirts around, So I get the car back here and I think she has driven it more than I have. She says she is just sharing in my crisis. Lol. Hey do you guys put this into nuetral when at stop lights? Any advise on shifting or down shifting would be great.

I've asked a lot of stupid questions about shifting in the last year. Do a search, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses. If not, I'll throw a few amateur ones your way. As for stop lights, half the time I'm in neutral, if I see a slow to stop coming from say 50. I'll drop it in neutral at aroung 1500 rpm in 4th and coast in. Otherwise, I usually just let it downshift and make sure I give the brake a good push. No idea if that matters. Funny there's no M, to RTFM on this ****.

Congrats on the F430 spider. Make sure you check out the SACRED thread in the Northern California section. There are several of us that go on drives together and we live in the Sacramento area. Keep in touch.

To select neutral pull both paddles in...As for upshifts listen to the engine wail and watch your tach. I have a V-12 with the led wheel but you dont always have to shift near redline, lol but its fun..Same with downshifts the system wont let you overrev but again listin and watch your tach...The more you drive it the easier it becomes...Kevin

I tend to put it into neutral depending on the length of the light. If its less than 15 seconds or so I keep it in gear. I have read on here that it doesn't matter whether or not you do this. For longer lights at an intersection I usually pull back on both paddles. I don't think that you get any extra wear on the clutch by not selecting neutral. Good luck with the black beauty.

My local Ferrari dealer's head mechanic who worked in Formula 1 for the Ferrari team back in the 80's told me it makes no difference so I've always left it in gear.
