So I'm flying into Stewart and staying in Monticello. I'm going to the dinner in Manhattan at Daniels Saturday night, then redeye Sunday morning back.

any shuttles going on to Daniels? most people staying in Manhattan Saturday night? thanks.

FYI- I would budget at least 2 hours to get from Monticello to NYC. NY State troopers are not a cheery lot, and the local ones always know whats going on at that track. If you get pulled over, I can assure you that you're getting a ticket. That said, Saturday can be a crap shoot to get to Manhattan. I live between the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel on the river in Jersey, and have ample parking at my building if anyone wants to carpool, limo, etc. from here.

I still can't figure out what to do. Yours is the only idea so far. I certainly don't want to stay in Monticello Saturday night, I have a 6:30 AM out of Stewart Sunday morning. Maybe I should just stay at the airport. Is there a good way to get between Stewart and NYC besides driving?

    Hey rob,

Your best bet may be to change your return flight to leave out of JFK, and spend sat night in NYC. JFK is only a 20 min cab ride from NYC....same goes for la guardia airport.

Are you flying your own plane in? I do know that you can get a train from Newburgh. It is across the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge. Not really sure of the train schedule at those hours. Not likely to happen. I don't know how much it would cost to fly into Teterboro Airport or Morristown. Newark is an alternative for commercial flights and you can take NJ Transit train from Penn Station NY right there, and they operate decent early schedules. It takes about a half hour to get there from the city.

just going commercial this time into Stewart. I've decided to skip the dinner. I will hit NYC another trip. Between staying in Monticello Saturday night and flying from Stewart 6:30 AM Sunday just wouldn't work. Thanks for the ideas.

FCRA Saturday September 3rd dinner has been moved to LAVO www.lavony.com, 39 East 58th Street, New York, NY 10022-1617 (Telephone: (212) 750-5588) 8:30pm.
LAVO seemed more appropriate to preempt and celebrate the success of FCRA as a dinner venue considering the ambiance suits the occasion best. I apologize for this late notice. My Regards, Anurag Dandiya
