    For the second time, the Carbon Ceramic brakes did not function right and won’t stop as required. the first time it was scratch, but the second time i was nearly totaled the car. It always happen to me when i hit the brakes just after shifting to the 2nd gear. Anybody faced the same problem?

    My friend faced it with his McLaren SLR. he told me that they need to release the pressure from the pipes of the brakes.

    Please advice

    Are you sure you didnt have your foot on both the brake pedal and slightly on the accelerator as this can happen due to the pedal spacing if one is wearing wide shoes. I dont recall reading about this issue with 599 CC brakes before.

    Iam in no way an expert but I think the people on here who know alot more than me will need more information...First what year is your 599.Was the pedal hard when you hit it or mushy(soft)..Were the brakes cold(as in the beginning of a drive or after repeated use?
    Was speed or road conditions a factor ie: rain? Have any cels popped up(trouble lights). Did your car try to swap ends (spin) when you did apply the breaks?
    How did it happen the first time?
    It could be alot of things, maybe air in your brake lines,poorly bedded brakes or even a component in the braking system....I would not hesitate to bring it in to your Ferrari dealer as soon as possible as it sounds very serious..Kevin

    Thanks Kevin for the reply;
    I have a 2007 599, 1562XX
    the pedal was soft, but i did not try to remove my feet and re-hit it again since it was so fast for me to do so.
    i dont think the brakes were cold since i was driven for almost 20-30 minutes before the incident plus am living in UAE where the weather at night is about 30 Celsius, so nothing gets cold around here ;).
    it was hard acceleration and once it shifted to the 2nd gear i decided to hit the brakes.

    I have a 2007 also with CCBs but have never experienced a situation such as yours..If anything my brakes are really responsive to the point that if I ever have to panic stop I better have my belts on or I will go through the windshield,lol.. It really sounds like you have air in your brake lines..Dont fool around as you can end up killing yourself or someone else. Take it to a competent mechanic...SLOWLY.....Kevin

    Iam sure you will get more qualified responses as its pretty late here in the states..

    Never experienced anything like that with the 599's CCBs in 30K+ miles.
    Bring your car to the local service center and have it checked out.
