I was just talking with a friend about the titanium springs on our MX bikes and we got around to talking about the spring that hit Massa's helmet last year. It got us wondering where that spring came from on the car in front of him. Does anyone know?

It was a rear spring, located between the rear wheels near the center of the car. The damper that runs through it broke and the whole linkage came apart, allowing the spring to fall out from beneath the bodywork to land on the track, at 140mph+.

And if so, has he ever felt the urge to "reinstall it" - so to speak - in Rubens' rear end.
