Been adding to my garage lately as well - added a light up Ferrari 4' dealer wall sign, double sided light up Pirelli sign, a repro Shell gas pump and a cool Italian made Pirelli tire display stand. Will work on some pics .... its very yellow/red in the garage, which make the 308 feel at home ;-)

Nice. Do you know what kinds of cars will occupy that space? Looks like it's ready for 57 Chevys and such.

Someone from the countach thread has got to know whose that is....

I also like how he has 2 of the cars from Days of Thunder. Cole Trickle and Russ Wheelers cars from daytona.

That's insane! I assume the lights/pedestals are custom made?
Reminds me of something out of the movie The Fifth Element.
I'd be afraid to walk around there with dirty shoes....

My garage-on-a-budget is now substantially complete. Would love a lift at some point, probably a scissor-type due to a low ceiling. Until then a set of ramps/jack will do.
There's a Harbor Freight right next to my office so started buying tools on sale before we moved in.
I wouldn't buy a parachute at HF but some of their stuff is surprisingly decent and they have a very friendly, pretty much a no-questions-asked exchange policy. The $15 I spent on an "Inside Track" card paid itself back at least 20x over...

First picture is when we moved in this April, second is a sketch for planning.

Already rebuilt the wife's BMW VANOS unit and fixed a bunch of oil/fluid leaks. SOOOOOOO much nicer than working in the apartment's parking lot!!!

    Equipment:
    - 2x8' bench made with 2x4s reclaimed from the corner room, topped with 1-1/8 part board + 1/4 masonite, trimmed with maple
    - $430 Craftsman Pro 25gal air compressor , $49 Harbor Freight 50' 3/8 hose reel , $40, 425ftlb HF Impact wrench (nice tool)
    - $99 HF rolling cart. This cart is SOLID, worth twice the price.
    - $89 HF Drill Press and stand
    - $95 Menard's doublejaw vise (did way too much shopping/research on vises...). A little cleaning and lubing and this one's as smooth as a $300+ Wilton.
    - $50 Menard's 8" bench grinder w/ lights (stand to be determined)
    - $90 HF 10" sliding miter saw and $30 stand. Damn nice saw when mated to a 80T Makita blade.
    - $70 (dented box) Rigid 16g Shop vac/blower
    - $30, 30' retractable electric cord
    - Mig welder (hand-me-down from the old man).
    - hanging fluorescent lights, halogen track lighting
    - HF creeper, rolling shorty stool, Northern Tool tall stool
    - Tunes
    - 1950's Unimat precision lathe (hand-me-down from grandpop's basement)
Before it gets too cold will install a radiant gas heater and disconnect the huge forced-air unit in the ceiling. Should be much more efficient and generate less (no) dust.
Looking forward to spending a lot of time in the garage!
    cheers
    Kurt

WOW! Impressive list for those of us too lazy to go hunting it down. Many thanks for that. The cart is on my list, though the price has gone up. Great work. Your garage is clearly set up for working, like it should be!

Thanks! I always dreamed about a 3 car garage, having space for 4+ is unreal. The previous owner parted out muscle cars and supposedly squeezed 6 cars in there at one point, somehow! He must have been great at tetris.

    Cheers Al!
Never go into a HF without a 20% off coupon. That thread is updated with the latest deals, just print out the coupon and take it in. Or join the 'Inside Track Club' for a few bucks, and if you're cool with the cashier they'll usually give 20% off one item without a coupon. BTW - the 20% off doesn't apply to compressors or the big rolling tool carts (which are damn nice), but the black or red ones are considered service carts so the 20% coupon applies. Or just catch the black one on an occasional $99 sale.

I know it sounds like I'm a coupon freak - can't remember the last time I used a coupon at the supermarket, but for tools I don't buy anything unless it's on sale, has a coupon, or my car's apart and won't go back together without one...

Here's my poor-man's, low-ceiling 'lift' in action while putting a rear sway bar on the CRX last weekend, and a shot of the front entrance right before we got the keys to the place earlier this year.

That second pic reminds of the "justification for higher education" posters.

Standard garage door look on the exterior or carriage style or something else?

    St. Ives ?
If so, I've been in that garage, was an inspiration for the one I built in St. Marlo
